there are only 2 real liberal bashers there are like 9 Conservative bashers
Im sure everyone here freaks the hell out when someone says the word hell
As for the lack of adult debate - I feel that these forums are better then most. However the site is too sensitive to sex, language and innuendo.
I feel it would be impossible to start a debate like: does viagra make you blind? Even though this is a valid news story at the moment.
I appreciate everyones comments and humour. Truely I do enjoy all the banter and debates. I only wanted to rein back the profanity and obscenity when it is used in a personal attack against someone. It doesn't matter that a word is spelt with a numeral to get it past the robomod.
I do believe we should be able to have heated arguements and adult subject material... I'm no prude.
I have no idea if adults are pretending to be kids for fun... geesh whatever fella.
The consensus seems to favour the debaters setting the limits.. that's fine by me but it would be "nice" to imagine we are sitting around the table chatting and when we're done we can go for a drink up the pub.
No one has personally attacked me (unless I'm to thick to recognise it) Maybe I make too much of this.... am I over sensitive?
Final show of hands... Gloves on (watch the language and insults) or gloves off (Anything goes til chopped by mod)
As long as there is facility for the mass to put forth opinions without accountability, responsibility and consequences normally aforded by face-to-face debate, people will shoot their mouths off and throw their cocks around as if they are John Wayne. Internet forums will always have these problems.
I've been a member of a few forums over the last four years, and online psychopathology has figured on them all to some extent, but I think there's something new here: maybe I'm being a little facetious, but the possible connection between the OCD and anal retentiveness that make for a compulsive chess player and the kind of person who treats a farty little thread as if it is WWIII by incremental stages is well worth investigating.

[b]We have a number of teens in the site that should be encouraged to loin in the politic threads. Some have been called A H's (real words mod'd) and other unnecessary dirty names.
It is a double entendre, but an obvious one. Why use it when it's meaning can be misconstrued so easily?

You made a point about bringing teens into political discussion, but it's not possible to know the ages of posters here. Impersonation is only one example. There are immature adults who sound like teens. There are sloppy and/or lazy typists who are mistaken for teens. But I agree with your 'whatever' - this whole 'teen involvement' point was silly to begin with.

Originally posted by BigDoggProblemIf you take the trouble to check a few profiles you'll find several young teens. 13 & 14 year olds. Very good chess players too. Most of them make good sense in the forums, stand up to arguements well and run rings around some of the adults. They also do it without swearing and have backed away from the forums when the insults and swearing starts. That's a fact...not a silly point.
