fair enough - put that way I see the point of your first analogy.

I'm not looking for 99.99% proof, just something more than circumstantial "it's getting hotter and we're producing more CO2 etc therefore our production of CO2 is the cause of it getting hotter". Once get chance to check out some of the links posted I might find that this proof is indeed there.

sorry, maybe it's the scientist in me but all I see is statements like "teh temperature of the worlds oceans has gone up in the past 20 years. We looked and solar/volcanic activity couldn't be responsible (no proof or explanation given) so it's got to be CO2 (again, no proof or evidence given)". I'd actually need to see these guys reports not their summary of their conculsions.

I'm sure I'd love to read 100 reports trying to find ones that are trustworthy, unbiased and informative, but I don't have time. Hence I'm fishing for others who say that they already have the proof to point me to it.

There are very good graphs of CO2 conc. vs global temprature over both short term (last 100 years) and longer terms (last 400,000 years or so). We do know that CO2 emissions by industry are currently huge, and there is a good correlat ...[text shortened]... on between emissions and global temperature. One can stick ones head in the sand if they want.

I find it hard to believe that the aair quality of today (with all of the flipping regulations) is worse that that of the Industrial Revolution (when the didn't care what was getting pumped into the air. Besides, with all of this CO2, there are more and bigger, healthier plants.

The more accurate the model, the higher the prediction of a global temperature rise under doubling CO2 concentration levels. Can't give you the reference yet as the paper's not yet been written.

Consider the exponential increase in CO2 producing entities between the industrial revolution and today, world-wide of course, and you won't have such a hard time with beliefs.

The reports make reference to millions of measurements across the world. A computer model incorporating those measurements is a tool assisting in analysis and conclusions not to be dismissed.
