@mott-the-hoople saidAnd it seems you have some knowledge of 'rithmetic. 🤣🤣
LOL...I pity the poor fella
@eladar saidNo threat? There are more than 140 million people in the 25-60 age range in the US. Do that math on casualties at 1/1000 risk.
Found a new source for numbers.
https://www.aarp.org/health/conditions-treatments/info-2020/coronavirus-deaths-older-adults.html
For those under 50, they represent about 65 percent of all cases, but only 5 percent of deaths.
That means about 25.8 million people who have had covid with resulting in 5 percent of deaths.
This results in a highest possible death rate ...[text shortened]... ion all the unidentified cases.
What does this mean? For the average person covid is no threat.
Consider in the same age range that cardiovascular disease kills 160,000 Americans per year. Is that a threat?
No threat?
@wildgrass saidNo threat to the average person. Only people with immunity issues are at risk.

How about taking a bit of personal responsibility to eat right, get some exercise and such? Oh no, cannot have that. No, we cannot say that many died due to their own poor decisions.
Type 2 diabetes is a behavior choice. If type 2 diabetes puts you at risk, change your diet, lift some weights and get some aerobic exercise. Soon you will be longer be a diabetic.
We must claim that the fault lies with those who will not get a shot. I agree that if you are unwilling to take care of yourself, then get vaccinated.
If you die, it is likely to a great extent due to your lifestyle choices. There are small minority of bad genetics, but that is nature.
@Eladar
So you continue to believe in the TRUMP lie just ignore C19 and we will EVENTUALLY get over it.
Hey ASSSWIPE, covid is VERY bad in case you haven't figured that out yet.
The stats on deaths is only one part of the diagram.
The other part is the LIFELONG side effects like PERMENANT brain, kidney, lung, and other organs damage.
But of COURSE to a card carrying trumpite that doesn't matter in the slightest since neither you nor Trump has an empathic bone in either of your bodies AND you will never even understand why that is bad.
@sonhouse saidWhat percent of people who get covid have long term damage from the disease? Please provide links.

@sonhouse saidSo you make claims without actual proof. Got it.
@Eladar
I am not your fukking librarian. I said the truth, it is up to YOU to see that truth. You want to know, OBVIOUSLY YOU DON'T but if you did you would have already found that out.
You are just as source of all knowledge that we need to believe simply because you wrote it.
Got it.
@Eladar
YOU are the one spreading absolute BULLSHYTE. I am not your frigging TEACHER.
Do your own research. MAYBE you could learn something.
HEY, TRY GOOGLING COVID SIDE EFFECTS.
I doubt you ever will though, since that would require you actually learning something, a situation you HATE.
@Eladar
SURE for someone like you who lost the ability to think for yourself YEARS ago.
You are a card carrying Trump cultist and there is NOTHING that will change that.
You worship a DEVIL not a god.
History will show Trump to have been THE worse POTUS in the so far entire history of the US.
You can take THAT to the bank.
Trump is EVIL and thinks of ONE person ONLY. DONALD TRUMP.
But you will NEVER see ANY of that since you are in fact a Trump cultist.
@mghrn55 saidI think Eladar's estimates are reasonable and his math is reasonable.
Your post suggests that you don't know what you are talking about.
1- where did you get the .3% from ? Is it your estimate as you say ?
2- if you take into account undocumented cases and revise your estimate, then that estimate should be revised upwards, not downwards. You teach math, you say ? 😅
3- if 1 in 300 did have any validity, that still leads to a very large ...[text shortened]... l us once and for all what you think should be our primary focus. For all of us, not just Americans.
But, I agree with your point #3. 1 in 300 to 1 in 1000 is painfully high. And that's only for people under 65. It's more bleak for those over 65. Also, one should consider the long term effects of Covid for a subset of those who survive.
Let's just say 1 in 1000 die from Covid. Would your ride a ride at a carnival that killed 1 in 1000 riders? I wouldn't. And if I was forced to ride, I'd be terrified for the duration of the ride (although it is for a very short time, where as the Covid risk spans more than a year).
And if I choose to live my life as normal and ignore my Covid risk... Well, tough luck. None of us have that choice. Until the nation gets a handle on Covid, all of us are going to have choices taken away no matter how much we wish we could ignore Covid.
@techsouth said1 in 300 is not accurate, that assumes every covid case has been tested and diagnosed as covid. Clearly this is not the case.

1 in 1000 cases is much more like it. If you go 45 or younger the number of deaths drop dramatically.
In any case, I think we can all agree covid is not a threat of wiping out our population and only those who have an immune problem dies.
