Bush is an idiot, but he is not dumb.

Isn't it a contrary opinion to say that he is an idiot, but powerful enough to get himself put into office?
My post wasn't a joke at all. The people who believe that President Bush is an idiot are only fooling themselves.
The president is one man. The people who advise the president and write his speeches are the ones who really run this government. Don't you know that? Bush reads his speeches very well I'll give him that. But ask him a question and he hasn't got a clue. ANYONE can read a well written speech.

Thank god there are countries like Canada that have given up the peackeeping role to try to clean up the mess in Afghanistan after the US bailed out to go hunting non-existing items in another country while torturing and de-humanizing hundreds and just outright killing over 100,000 innocent people a few countries over.
Hopefully Canada will find Bin Laden if he's still alive for the Americans since they've given up. Unfortunately, with only 30 million people in it's population, a country like Canada can only do so much to repair the "shaping" done by the US. It may take some time, but we'll do what we can.
It sure would make it easier though if the americans would just stop accidentally dropping bombs on our troops but hey, at least those pilots will be fired or at least say they are sorry. What's that?..they won't? Oh, well, figures.
Let freedom reign!....just not on our heads

You wouldn't, and neither would his staff. He is a powerful man and he is surrounded by those people who believe in him most.
I don't have to agree with President Bush to understand that he really isn't stupid.

"People get the governmnet they deserve"
The answer to your questions is YES, if you believed he was your best shot at getting into power and controlling the white house. It's the same reason the GOP is pushing Jeb Bush to run, and the DEM's are pushing Hillary to run. Because both parties think they can win with those two as the figurehead. They're just fodder for the public.
It's also the same reason a guy like John McCain can't get a nomination to lead a party. Too bad too because he'd be a great president.

If you don't stand for anything, you don't stand for – anything.
Fool me once, shame on you—fool me—you can't get fooled again.
In my State of the—my State of the Union—my speech to the nation, whatever you want to call it.
They muster—mis-underestimated the compassion of our country. I think they mis-underestimated the will and the determination of the commander in chief, too.
I am the decider, and I decide what is best.

It is also amusing how you think you automatically know what kind of government I "deserve" based upon the fact that I disagree with you on one point. That's the kind of shallow judgment one can expect coming from a random person behind the computer screen.
I'm willing to discuss and consider anybodies opinions. However, I refuse to do it with somebody who won't discuss the issue on a mature level.

Here's my counter-point: Bush is simply a puppet that has been groomed for his position by a powerful organization that's bent on increasing their dominance in the world. He's been told what to say and how to appeal to audiences by the best professionals in the world.
Therefore, the only way we can truly judge him are by two things:
1) his actions and
2) what he says on his own.
Based on that, the website below shows Bush in his full arrogance and stupidity. Well, I could be wrong, but that's how I see it.

Ahhh the un-polluted beaches, spectacular weather, gorgeous women, amazing food... Yep, it sure does suck...

Arrakis - there is far to much logic in this post. Please refrain from this and start spouting rubbish before it is too late!!!!
Originally posted by arrakisI can definitely see that point of view. Following along the lines that he is only a puppet, I see the issue a bit differently. Basically, everything that President Bush does is a PR stunt, one way or another. He looks goofy, he looks loveable. He appeals to Christians, Conservatives and the large majority of Americans. Some of the grammatical mistakes he makes are hilarious, but if he were just a puppet, those wouldn't be mistakes at all. Instead of blunders when he is put on the spot, blunders that the "professionals" can't predict, they are serious PR stunts to make him look cute (for lack of a better term) and harmless.

If that were the case, I would still say that he is an intelligent person, but his blunders are nothing but distractions so that we don't think of the larger picture. It would take a smart man to look that silly when making speeches. It would take a smart man to make it look like he just got anxious when he was in front of people, or that it is just silly Texan charm.
Of course, this is all conjecture that I'm not sure that I believe. I've thought along those lines though 🙂
