By stealing the cake, the starving man buys himself more

He would also be justified in enlisting the services of a security company/the police force/national airforce to protect his cake.
How do you know you're going to die, to be at that stage you're not going to be able to put up much of a fight, I hope the fat guy stomps your ass.

You're all making excuses to avoid making a choice. Just use your imagination...
A cake isen't healty enough? -Make it a fruitcake
The beggar is to starved to be doing anything? -He still has enough energy to steal and eat the cake but the fat man and the beggar are in the middle of knowhere and the beggar does not have enough energy to get out of there on his own.
Bla bla bla? etc

I would steal the cake, steal some more cake, sell it, steal and sell more and more, buy a grand house and wear a greatcoat made of gold leaf, then make a living as a consultant informing thieves that theft is unforgivable in our capitalist society, and that if only they were as virtuous and thrifty as me they would certainly be as rich and successful.

sidewalk, obviously almost dying, is he not at fault for not offering
some of his cake to said dying man whether the poor man tries to
steal it or not?
