The problem I have with Stang's strategy is that it is not a conversation, it is a monologue.
I would suggest that if you want to change people's minds, the best way is to get THEM to change their minds by discussing their views rather than simply presenting your own repeatedly.
The discussion can certainly *include* presenting your views, but without the to-and-fro of dialogue it doesn't engage the other person. About the only reason to get involves is to let Stang (or anyone else who tries a similar method) that they're annoying.
Getting attention isn't really the best way to get results.

STANG floods the forums with a specific argument. He seems to hope that sheer repetition/advertisement of his position will convince people that he is correct or at least to consider that possibility when they otherwise would not.

I think it works for me up to a point. However after a while ...[text shortened]... tion because I lose respect for him, and therefore any position he might have loses credibility.
