Your creation of this flimsy dichotomy and the fact that not being vaccinated increases the risk of transmission, are not defences of your approval of forcing people to have chemicals injected into them. One ethic should not be conflated with the other.

I do support the idea of NEW people to the profession being required to be vaccinated but NOT existing employees. I feel doing so is totally unethical, period.
Well it’s a good job you are not the arbiter of what is ethical then isn’t it.

Interesting how little regard you have for people working in the caring profession and how profoundly oblique your context of them “simply getting another job”. They are care workers, what other job would you suggest they get?

Blimey, and you're the socialist here!
“ Blimey, and you're the socialist here!”
Lolz for your Daily Mail cartoon idea of what a socialist is. One thing a socialist would insist upon is a safe environment for the elderly and infirm. You must be thinking of some other kind of ‘ist’

I’m fine with all of these as they do not involve injecting a person with chemicals.

Despite your love of ethics, I do hope your post improves in terms of the relativity of your examples because these are hardly relevant.
It was very early in the morning man.

Yes they are CARE workers and if they don’t CARE enough about the people they are charged with CARING for to protect against a virus that kills them then perhaps they are better suited to a non CARING profession.
This is just a red herring.

No one is being forced to have a vaccination
You are mistaken.

If existing care workers don’t have the double vaccine they will be forfeit their jobs.

But I stand by my point. If they want to make it mandatory (which I think there is reasonable excuse for doing), they have to offer alternatives to people who don't want to be vaccinated.

The UK government has today announced that all care home workers have to be covid vaccinated, by law. I stand vehemently against this move, especially on what are still essentially experimental vaccines.

I’m not against vaccination, I’m against dictatorial use of Parliamentary power being leveraged to force people to have chemicals injected into them.

Thoughts?

This whole thread is based on a red herring.
No one is being forced to get vaccinated but certain professions will be ring fenced for those who have been and for justifiable reasons.

Seems to me that as long as these healthcare workers wear a mask when working with the elderly much of the problem would be solved.

Anyone working the the elderly should wear a mask when working with the elderly if the elderly person wants the other person to wear a mask. Seems to me the elderly person should have the choice here, not a dictatorial government.

You know, the same government that put recovering covid patients into retirement homes.

You don’t seem to understand what has been proposed.

People working in care-homes across the UK will lose their livelihoods if they don’t comply and take the vaccine.

This is ethically corrupt in my opinion.

You seem to be talking about a different topic.

This thread is not about masks, it’s about the uk government forcing millions of people to take the vaccine or lose their jobs.

You point is fine, but it’s not the issue.

@divegeester

Vaccines are an attempt to protect the elderly from the virus.

Masks are another way to protect the elderly from the virus, without the need for a vaccine.

Forcing vaccinations just goes to show that the UK wants to be like China and Russia.

Sh76 is an American who wants the US to be like China and Russia as well. That was just to point out that we have those kinds of people in the US as well.

Even if they have to lose their jobs if they are opposed to taking the vaccine?
As the right wingers are so fond of saying - nobody owes them a job
