The police shot themselves in the foot when they shot at a teenager driving away from them. At least some of the protest has now become about that shooting.

They had years to prepare for this and kicked their ankles against the prod.
I’ll give you a wee hint: even the Dutch king came out in support of proper compensation for them; before these demonstrations happened. Do you think he’d come out and support them now?
Now? Let 'em go broke. We're not talking about barely surviving petty farmers here, but about massive, intensive milk farms. Did you see the size of those tractors? Every one costs more than my house!
In fact, I want them to pay back all the damage they did to the country as a whole; I want the ones who threatened the children of politicians to be locked up for a good, long stretch - you do not threaten children and assume the high ground - and I want the ones who blocked ambulances to be thrown off the bridges they did it on, into the river.
