Well maybe people could pick up a slave or two to meet the "property owner" requirement.

My criteria, is that one must be 18, so you'll have to wait a few more years, and one must be a citizen.

EDIT: And you must be registered. Pretty simple, actually.
Instead of being a dick, maybe you could answer the question without the vitriol.

I was answering a dick question. This post had nothing to do with illegal aliens. It was about denying American citizens the right to vote because they are not property owners. He was the one that brought the idiocy and he got the response that he deserved.

What are you, his mother?

"I was answering a dick question."

Wouldn't that make you a dickbagger?

No one said otherwise. Whodey asked for you to outline the criterion you use when considering the right to vote. His anecdotal use of illegal aliens could just as easily been people within the penal system, for example.

Except that it is incredibly stupid to assume that ANYONE would allow people that aren't citizens to vote. AND illegal aliens are the bogey man of the right. If he had said people within the penal system, then that would have been a serious, legitimate questions.

"Should CITIZENS that are incarcerated be allowed to vote." See, they are still citizens. It isn't a good question, but it at least it is feasible. There has never been a question whether people who are incarcerated should be able to vote. However, the question is, should convicted felons be allowed to vote? In my opinion, if you have served your time, then you should be allowed to vote.

Why shouldn't people who are currently incarcerated "be allowed" to vote?

Isn't it the case that some states even bar ex-felons from voting?
I vaguely recall that a majority of states bar incarcerated felons, parolees and probationers.
But that around a third of the states even barred anyone with a felony on their record even if they were out free on time served.

Seems like there was a move to change this some 5 years back. I don't recall the outcome.

Is it true that someone from this tea-party malarky is actually standing on an anti-masturbation platform?

What the hell is that all about? Of all the things to get worked up about in the world, she's got her knickers in a twist about people playing with themselves?

Let's put it in the scale of judgement here:
- Bomb women and children, burning them alive: Fine
- Filling a sock: Bad

Dear God. Please let it all stop.

I hate to barge in on this whole voting issue. But say you morally disagree with ownership, forcing someone to own before allowing them to vote, literally knocks them and their views out of the democracy.

The same goes for criminals.
The same goes for communists.
The same goes for republicans (although I am willing to make the odd exception, of course).
The same goes for paedophiles.

The whole point of a democracy is that everyone can have an opinion and try to force change based on that opinion.

And don't tell me the old: "The US isn't a democracy, it's a republic" rubbish. I've heard enough US sound bites about bringing their democracy to the world to know that republicans are either full of it or are hypocrites.
