@metal-brain saidYou're skipping over the fact that Trump is the one who passed on 100 million additional vaccines. So much for "America first".
They can make more.
They are pretending there is a shortage to get more money from it. They are perfectly capable of supplying the demand.
@metal-brain saidYou base this on what?

@metal-brain saidOf course they know the vaccine will give immunity that’s kinda why they call it a vaccine.
It is more than just flying. If that was all it was I would not care since I don't fly. What if I can't get a job without taking a vaccine?
They don't even know if the vaccine will give people immunity. If not, there will be no herd immunity until everyone gets the virus.
I would go further than just flying I would ban the intentionally non vaccinated from large crowd events like concert and sporting arenas. You have a right to live your life in a conspiracy bubble if you want to, but you do not have the right to force the consequences of your choices onto the wider non conspiracy based society.
How big a bag of alternative facts have got for us today?
@kevcvs57 saidFauci admitted they don't know if it gives immunity. It is his big bag of alternative facts, not mine.

Are you now going to claim Fauci lives in a conspiracy bubble? He is my source of information.
@great-king-rat saidHow many competitors does Pfizer have?
You base this on what?
BTW, 6 people died in Pfizer's vaccine trials for that vaccine.

@metal-brain saidAs a Brit I’m not the least bit interested in what Fauci has to say on anything much. It’s been passed for use by the necessary authorities in the UK.

According to you, he, at some point, claimed that masks were useless or worse than useless. So that’s yet another of your links I won’t be following.

@metal-brain saidDo You mean six people died during the Pfizer vaccine trials?

Do you know what they actually died of?

@metal-brain said"Six participants did die during the 44,000 person Pfizer vaccine trial, two of whom were given the vaccine while the other four people received a placebo (here).

BTW, 6 people died in Pfizer's vaccine trials for that vaccine.
Details of the deaths are laid out in FDA briefing documents ( here and here ), ahead of a Thursday meeting of outside experts to the FDA who will discuss whether to recommend the Pfizer shot for people aged 16 and older.
One of the vaccine recipients had a cardiac arrest 62 days after a second dose of the two-dose vaccination and died three days later. The other died from arteriosclerosis three days after a first dose of the vaccination. One of the placebo recipients died from myocardial infarction, another from haemorrhagic stroke and two others from unknown causes.
The FDA briefings clarify that the deaths were not deemed to be related to the vaccine: “None of these deaths were assessed by the investigator as related to study intervention”. They explain: “All deaths represent events that occur in the general population of the age groups where they occurred, at a similar rate.”

@kevcvs57 saidAs of yet, the FDA and vaccine makers are not claiming that the vaccine will prevent virus transmission - there just isn't enough data to make that claim:

"Although the vaccine was shown to be highly effective at preventing illness, there is no data yet that suggests it also prevents infection or the ability to spread the virus to others. Mask-wearing and social distancing will likely remain in place until more people are vaccinated or proof emerges that the vaccine also prevents virus transmission."

@no1marauder saidSo there’s no real point in passports for those that have taken the vaccine? That’s a shame because if it doesn’t stop infection it will have little effect in the rate of transmission / mutation of the virus which will mean having to upgrade the vaccine in order to keep apace with mutation.

@kevcvs57 saidI wouldn't say that. The expectation is that the vaccine will prevent or at least seriously impede virus transmission, but it would be premature to make such a claim before there is evidence showing it.
