Wars were fought and won in the past because that was the way to resolve conflicts for that time period. That method is now obsolete against a undefined enemy. We (the human race) have moved on and evolved, the sooner people like you die off, the better out world will be.

We have not only moved on. We risk annhilation, if not death and suffering on a scale that is almost impossible to comprehend.

I rate the chances of this happening in the next 50 to 100 years at 60%.

Even a 10% chance should raise far more concern and action now.

esoteric the dull writes...

This test is quite ridiculous. What would happen if both sides would use the weapons to eliminate the dis-armed side? I'm pretty sure both Israel and the "be-headers" would butcher the other side if they were given half a chance (as being shown by Israel at the moment and as was shown by America invading a defenceless Iraq).

We live in a real world you know.

This is your view of the world, and it takes on epic levels of cynicism.

I admire pessimists but I have no use for cynics. A cynic tends to go with very simplistic analysis and solutions proffered by cynics tend to the absurd. Your post here is a perfect example to young children of what can happen to a person should they turn out to be too lazy to think.

I think that Israel has the maturity for peace that a well founded nation of democrats manifests by deed and by rhetoric. As evidence and example I offer that following the passage of resolution 1559 by the UN , Israel complied fully. It withdrew from the occupied territories and from Lebanon. They showed every sign of wanting to be a good citizen of the world.

Did the beheaders comply with 1559? No. Did the new government of Lebanon comply? No. Did the UN comply with their enforcement promise? No. They sent 2000 pseudo soldiers who set in watch towers just feet from the "army of god" terrorists, watch said terrorists fire into Israel every day and do nothing but file a written report.

So stow the cynicism. We live in a dangerous world that should not tolerate anti-intellectual, deliberate efforts to defeat understanding such as you put forth in never-ending streams of doom and defeat. Your goal matches #zeros goal. You want to instill chaos into the minds of the simpletons and defeat and destroy civilization. Simpletons can only succeed with the lazy minded of the world though, so enjoy your little successes and have fun.

Instead of dribbling nonsense, answer me this question. Do you think the killing of 300-400 innocent civilians, disruption of a sovereign state’s main infrastructure, and displacement of half a million, if not more, civilians is morally justified when they have not even made any form of impact on Hezbollah? Please, just answer that question. But no, i know you won't, you will just get on your high horse and claim the moral high ground because you hold the popular opinion. Easy to hide behind isn't it?

Oh yeah, by the way;

United Nations, July 13, 2006 -- The United States has vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution that would have demanded a halt to Israel's military offensive in the Gaza Strip.

America continues to show a disregard for human life, other than it's own (not that Bush cares about American soldiers).

Is Australia doing anything to help bring peace in the Middle East…or are you too busy plundering the Solomon Islands?

We're helping in the Solomon Islands. I have personally helped set up a course to teach them how to operate a new radio station. Unlike America, we were invited and haven't killed anyone.

John Pilger wrote “Little has changed for the present Australian government of John Howard, whom George W Bush recently appointed America’s "sheriff" in the South Pacific. This would have been an embarrassment to most prime ministers, but not to Howard. Indeed, Sheriff Howard and his perilously gormless deputy, Alexander Downer, the foreign minister, are on a "mission." It is to take charge of the "failed states" that make up what Washington calls an "arc of instability" in the Pacific region. Last year, Australian troops were dispatched to the Solomon Islands: to "police the chaos," meaning to secure the country for Australian business. Something similar is under way in Papua New Guinea, where a regime of privatisation, deregulation and "free trade" is being directed by a team from Australia.”

Any thoughts or comments?

I read this as I wait for my printer to complete printing of what will be tens of thousands of leaflets that I will be arranging for delivery, all at my own cost, to marginal seats in the upcoming federal election in Australia.

This protests against John Howard - Like Bush he is "a liar, war monger and threat to our security".

He lost the marginal seat I focussed on last election. This time, I'll have dozens of assistants.
