Yes I did. So it seems you don't think anyone here at RHP glamorizes Lovelle Mixon or defends the glamorization of Lovelle Mixon. Good. But wait. Did you think spruce112358 was seeking to glamorize Lovelle Mixon or to defend the glamorization of Lovelle Mixon?

sighhhhhhh.

OK I'll spell it out.

1. Poster said police officer jobs in Oakland were hard to fill.
2. I said yeah no wonder, posted video link of Lovelle Mixon being hailed as a hero.
3. Spruce said well it's common to romanticize outlaws no big deal.
4. I said hey romanticizing Jesse james, etc is one thing but admiring a recent cop killer and saying yeah pigs deserved it is not the same thing and the analogy is a bad one.

Got it?

I think you're just pretending to be thick to stir up the pot you cannot possibly have not understood where I was coming from.

Some people romanticize villains. Some people even romanticize Lovelle Mixon. But, as spruce112358 said, "It shouldn't be guiding our actions". Seems you didn't get spruce112358's point about romanticiszation of villains. Who cares if people romanticize someone like Jesse James or Lovelle Mixon. It should have no bearing on reality in terms of our attitude to murder. spruce112358 made the point very well. You missed it. I have intervened. And now it's straightened out.

I knew you'd say something like that rather than just admit you were wrong or say OK now I get it.

No more. Play your games with someone else you're no fun anymore.

I think two things happened here. You didn't understand spruce112358's point. And you misused - or don't understand - the word 'analogy'. Either way, I've sorted it out and you disappearing in a huff is simply a bonus.

nonsense. do you really believe (like sam) that only in a "perfect world" would the police be unable to unjustly kill your dog or beat your pregnant wife then get away with it? Thats not being perfect, thats the least one could possibly ask for.
But sure, I guess that given the US is a country of 310 million, the police doesn't have to abide by simple common sense expectations.

Young Guns 1 and 2 were great movies.

No. Beg to differ. Whether it be TV or movies, I think all those kinds of westerns were cast forever into the inky shadows by Deadwood.

Here in the state of wyo, any dog running free on a ranchers land is fair game. My friend had both of his sheperds shot by a rancher. It's not fair in any way, they were not bothering his cattle. he was taken to court, and found not guilty. Later, he was dealt western justice down in the local bar, with a mad pair of fists.
By the way, a wagging tail does not mean the dog is friendly. I had a Chocolate Lab with a wagging tail, nearly take my nose off once. It is not normal, but it does happen.
Still in regard to your post, I would never shoot a dog....

where exactly are these people screaming "the US is becoming a police state!"?
I don't recall any poster saying or implying such thing.

but sure, I guess those who disagree with you are just "missing the picture", the number of cases where there is abuse of power is quite small, so its only fair to let those people get away with whatever they did, they probably had a good reason for doing whatever they did, after all they must have been quite stressed by having to make hard decisions etc, everybody knows that sometimes you just have to shoot first and ask questions later. Only in a "perfect world" would these people be accountable for their actions.
