Yes, you refuse to recognise, like the gambling addict, or the drug addict, or the alcoholic the first step to recovery is recognising the problem, congratulations robbie.

An important point that has been realised tonight (Aus time).
LOL, once you have tasted the National Health service of the UK, nothing else will do! When you can demonstrate how it has a bearing on the right of self determination then please do so. Australia doesn't have a national health service? how 1892!

I have spent 2 years in the UK, 6 years in Aus, 5 years in US and a few other years here and there. I implore US citizens to resist state health care as strongly as possible.

What bearng does state healthcare on self determination?

If I am forced to purchase state mandated health insurance that reduces my abilty to follow other options that I believe best suit me.

You can pay for both? You are saying that he has an infinite amount of money? It is entirely possible that paying for one leaves you with so little money you can't buy the other. If you didn't have to pay for the first, then you could afford to buy the other.

I have not said anything of the sort, he says that being coerced to purchase state health care has infringed upon his right of determination then the solution is simple, buy both.

Eladar is correct, and I have already made the point too, if I am forced to purchase the state mandated system my ability to purchase my prefered alternative is reduced, unless you're offering to pay my share.

reduced but not impossible and therefore not an infringement to your right to claim self determination.

I have $5 to spend on health care, the guvamint takes the $5, I am now unable to purchase the cheaper, faster more efficient $4 private care. I get sick and go on the states 'die while you wait' waiting list.

it has no bearing on what you can do with your body and you still have the right to self determination. You FAIL my Aussie cousin.

I explained that already, most of those things apart form seatbelts can be said to be an objective threat to fellow road users. Me not wanting to be part of your wet dream healthcare system is not a threat to you or anybody.
So if everyone was allowed to opt out of the ACA and this was shown to be a threat to the public health, then you would support the government mandate?

PS: What healthcare system do you belong to now?

Man you guys are all reading form the same recipe book, its hilarious, dont tax us, Obama is this, Obama is that, you are destroying America blah blah blah.

Why was the affordable care act necessary, because the health system was being brought to its knees whodey with an unprecedented amount of hospitals facing closure.
The first hints that the legislation was flawed were all of the exemptions and delays that Obama scrambled to throw together after he rammed it up our arse.
