@sonhouse saidYOu'd have to crunch some numbers. I aint got time. Suffice, however, to give your post a bit of foundation, that you are saying the Bill, if passed, would not have caused a rise in inflation.
@AverageJoe1
Prove that 'fact' then. I'll wait.
We will put that in our journals .

@averagejoe1 saidNo, the conclusion you should draw is that you just aren’t funny.
You have just proven that you fellers dont get humor. But comedy? Silly people telling jokes on a stage. Certainly you see the diff?
So, are we glad progressives and Obama’s regulations werent around in the 30’s? Would not have happened. Obstructionists City.
Loosen up man, is that you Sonhouse?

@jimm619 saidThere was 9 years in between the proposal to build the Hoover Dam and the beginning of construction. Mostly, states were arguing over water rights but also there were environmental concerns.
I imagine because it was started
during The Hoover Administration.
Coolidge was a one term president,
the dam took 7years to build.
Roosevelt's WPA finished the project,
as you mention, 'under budget, in record time.'
It was originally called, 'The Boulder Dam.'
@jj-adams saidGood men may differ but, it appears,
You people are stupid.
Joe's point was that if we had the regulations of today back in the 30's, Hoover Dam would never have been built.
Instead it was built and completed for less than the proposed budget and in less time than predicted, an unheard of thing for a gigantic govt project.
that anyone who disagrees with you is stupid
...........How quaint.

@AverageJoe1
Now who is putting words into my mouth? I never said that and I resent your implications I did.
Here is a reality:
"A VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS IS A VOTE AGAINST DEMOCRACY". Rob Reiner.
He put the anti democracy swing of the Trump ZOMBIES in one sentence and that sentence WILL be repeated millions of times over starting here and now with me.
Go on, rebut it. I bet you can't rebut THAT in one sentence.

@sonhouse saidNever said 'what , son house? You need to hit the quote button when you respond to a point, and you have been advised to do that many times. so, your post is lost on me.

@averagejoe1 saidJust thought I would put it in a humorous setting.
Was???? No, no, no, I am saying if it were being built Now, by the govt (like the wall) or a private enterprise. The libs would stop it. Why, It may eradicate the endangered snail darters!!!!!
You know I'm right. Just thought I would put it in a humorous setting.
Y'all get so excited, no need. Just jawing here. Y'all keep on exploring deep space, but the ...[text shortened]... hates that). And spending money on the dam when we could be paying off student debt with the money.
Stop the BS Joe - You're just trying to cover up the fact that you posted something really stupid here. If you would have admitted your error, you would find people here to be pretty forgiving, instead you're trying to hide your error in a haze of (so called) humor. It's not funny - and it's not working! 😳
@mchill saidOdd, isn't it,
Just thought I would put it in a humorous setting.

about Jo's snarky attempts at sophisticated
satirical, sarcasm, a' la William F. Buckley.
Yet, he contends, that liberals don't appreciate real humor.
...............................OH, THE IRONY...

@mchill saidThe post was perfect. Tell me where I was off. Of course, I assume, though libs have zero humor, that you would get the crux of it, that libs love to stop things...esp when a billionaire is going to make even MORE money.

Better yet, tell us that, in today's climate, that libs would sit by and watch the deomolitions, etc in the construction of the dam. Tell us there would be no protests. You cannot tell us that. I just wish libs would leave people, who are not breaking a law, alone. And me.
@averagejoe1 saidPerfect? ...It was sycophantic vomit.

Didn't notice resistance when they finally
erected monuments to WWII and Viet vets.
Sure was resistance when they finally dismantled
monuments to Confederate brigands and traitors, though.

@averagejoe1 saidIt was a. factually wrong, and b. snide rather than humorous.
The post was perfect. Tell me where I was off.
But hey, good on you repubs for at least trying to be funny rather than merely aggressive for a change. Pity you failed so dismally.
@averagejoe1 saidAs long as there was a Democrat in the Executive suite, there's absolutely no way - in today's climate - that Republicans would allow the Hoover Dam to be built.

@wildgrass saidI'm thinking the wall is more imp than was the dam, given the resilience of America. Our sovereignty is over, you see. But,, you don't. ....see....

Sorry you missed my great post. I will work on another. Maybe a link this time.
