No, no it isn’t just because a thing is done by a moron that does not make it an oxymoron.
Take the freedom to own slaves some people fought to the death for that right, or the freedom to treat lgbtq+ people or women in a discriminatory manner. These are actual freedoms that some people try to enshrine into legislation.

@shallow-blue saidCompletely fine with the word ugggh, it's use and it's application to you and your buddies.
Don't use words you do not understand.
@kevcvs57 saidkev, whenever the word 'oxymoron' is used in a thread it's a race to the bottom for who can be the most predictable, most hackneyed cliche' bore to make some kind of moronic moron crack.

Rights are an absolute kev, everyone has the same rights, you have a right to live your life free from force, threats of force and fraud. No one has a right to keep slaves, there is no freedom to keep slaves, all humans have the same rights.
“People do not expect to find chastity in a whorehouse. Why, then, do they expect to find honesty and humanity in government, a congeries of institutions whose modus operandi consists of lying, cheating, stealing, and if need be, murdering those who resist?”
H. L. Mencken

There is no such thing as objective freedom it’s all so constrained or expanded by the socialisation process that the term, out-with the glaringly obvious impositions, is essentially meaningless.
You for instance are obsessed with freedom from sociopolitical impositions on your illusionary vision of freedom.
Freedom from crushing poverty
Freedom from ignorance
Freedom from the bigotry
Are some examples of very important freedoms for me that require government involvement, but you would see that involvement as some degree of goobermint tyranny.
It’s all subjective so we'll just have to let democracy decide.

Tried this a few times before, and every time the control freaks, busybodies, hyper sensitive cry babies, suzi's and zahloonies failed miserably.
So have at it, control freaks versus freedom lovers. I suggest that the ensuing quote in some way replies to the previous, but hey, free world right. To kick off, not so much a freedom quote but an excellent tenet to live by, ...[text shortened]... elf be true
