Ok. So we have all heard the old saw about "The Power Of Positive Thinking".
Is there anything to it?
For example. A while back on RHP I stated that everywhere I go "bad things" seem to happen. The crew and all the passengers of an airplane flight that I was on in China crashed two weeks after I left. I sat on that same flight and saw the lake ...[text shortened]... What power do they hold over us? As rational beings? Why are we so vulnerable to superstitions?

Can there even be any perception of anything that is not real?

Ok. So here are a list of events that I presented to you as being part of my "Reality".
These events are one of three types. I won't tell you which up front. Try to rate each one as you think they are:
A - CHINA PLANE CRASH
B - JAPAN EARTH QUAKE
C - INDONESIAN QUAKE
D - TRACTOR ACCIDENT
E - FLYING IN CLOUDS
F - SPINNING THE COUGAR
G - CANCER
H - SUICIDE ATTEMPT
I - CARPENTRY ACCIDENT
J - SOFT BALL ALL-STAR
K - FALLING FROM WEAVERS NEEDLE
L - FRIEND WINS DRIVERS RODEO
M - VW BUG ROLL OVER
N - FINDING ADDRESS IN CULVER CITY
O - RC GOES TO ENGLAND
1 - The truth as it happened.
2 - Part truth, part exageration.
3 - True but not related to SVW as told. Happened to another.
4 - Total fabrication.
If you have any strong feelings about any of them, please explain. If you think they are not the "truth", please state "why" you feel this way.
The purpose of this is to let everyone examine "how" each of us processes "information" received and accepts or rejects it as "real". My purpose in this thread is just to generate interest in how our minds are similar to one another -- and how different also. You may be surprised at both.
If you considered some of the "fantastic" items True -- how did that make you feel? Good or Bad or ... something else? If something else, then what?
Hello SVW, I've missed you today.
I believe all your stories. If you say it happened to you, who am I to object. I've rolled a Beetle myself--60 mph--getting out of the way of a drunk driver. Got a bloody nose, some cracked ribs, and a nice trip in the anbulance out of the deal; I could have walked away, but there were some assertive medical types that watched the spectacle.
What a life. No wonder you fish with dynamite!
I'm sorry God is trying to kill or maim you; although I'm happy that she's failed so far. What did you do to provoke her belligerence?

This thread might be interesting yet.
Why would you believe anyone you have never met in person? Just a bunch of "typed" words on the internet. I might even be a computer somewhere learning to think -- practicing on RHP.
ps... the nick-names I hand out are not meant to be offensive. Sometimes that doesn't work out well. Yours will probably dwindle down to "WW" before too long.😕

I believe everything people say on the internet, as a matter of policy; but this provisional belief never gets into the same room as my soul.

What was in the past is nothing but a faded ghost of the present, what is in the future is but a shadow of things to come. Reality is here right now, this very instance.
Did you read all the posts?
Want to rate them as per my request?
You are a brave soul if you do.
See my notice that "it might be a good time to study superstitions".
I have a theory.
Based on the number of people who actually believe all this stuff and want to "engratiate" themselves to me. grin.
Anyway. You did break the taboo. Let's see if anyone else responds.
