@jimm619 saidYou're confusing Ron with Rand.
Ron Paul?............First class jerk, in my book.
His latest 'patriotic' vitriol.

Ron Paul is is Rand's father. The apple, unfortunately, fell too far from the tree. Same for RFK Jr.
@vivify saidOh, I don't know.
You're confusing Ron with Rand.

I don't think Ron would be a fan of COVID restrictions, which is the issue Rand is most famous for.
Edit: Apparently, I don't have to guess. According to Wikipedia:
"COVID-19 pandemic statements
On March 16, 2020, Ron Paul criticized the government, media, and public responses to the nascent COVID-19 pandemic in a column for his website.[244] He dismissed claims of a death rate higher than the flu as "a claim without any scientific basis" and said that the "chief fearmonger of the Trump Administration is without a doubt Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health," who Paul claimed was "serving up outright falsehoods to stir up even more panic." He stated, "People should ask themselves whether this coronavirus 'pandemic' could be a big hoax... That is not to say the disease is harmless. Without question people will die from coronavirus. Those in vulnerable categories should take precautions to limit their risk of exposure. But we have seen this movie before. Government over-hypes a threat as an excuse to grab more of our freedoms. When the 'threat' is over, however, they never give us our freedoms back."

Seems like the apple is basically on the tree.
@vivify saidI don't know what side I'm on anymore. I enjoy the conservative opinion columns of Bill Kristol and David Brooks. I still do, but those guys are no longer considered conservative.
What political figures or pundits of the opposite political spectrum from you do you respect? For conservatives, I mean other than the obvious, like Sinema, Manchin or Lieberman.
For me, definitely Ron Paul.
Also, Krystal Ball, an anchor for The Hill.
@sh76 saidThe difference is that Ron has solutions, not just problems.

Seems I was wrong. PolitiFact has many instances of this guy spreading false information.
Heartbreaking. Looks like you're right.
@wildgrass saidAs I recall, Ron's solution for every problem was always to get government out of it.
The difference is that Ron has solutions, not just problems.
@vivify saidI'll give a nod to Mitt Romney; he's successfully resisted Trump mania.

Romney was a vocal critic of Trump....until Trump considered him for Secretary of State. Then, he had nothing but praises for Trump.
Yeah, yeah, I know: kudos for turning on Trump for trying to upend democracy.
@sh76 saidYou're right...........My mistake.....
You're thinking of Rand Paul.
Ron was his father. He was an uber-libertarian who would run for the GOP nomination every 4 years and his followers would come out of the woodwork to demand that the Fed be audited, isolationist foreign policy and to tell the truth about the Moon landing.
(okay, I made the last one up... sue me)
Pop is better than son..........
@vivify saidkrystal ball is not conservative what are you talking about 😀 ? Also, you're a bit behind on info, she left the Hill./

Other than a sort of consistent anti-war stance what is there to respect about Ron Paul? The man is a huge hypocrite. EDIT: I also made the mistake of confusing Ron with Rand. Disregard this.
"For conservatives, I mean other than the obvious, like Sinema, Manchin or Lieberman."
I also don't understand this. Those three are conservatives why would they qualify for this exercise?
