Saying someone is soft on crime is not the same thing as saying that person commits those crimes. That some judge lets a thief off the hook too lightly doesn't make him a thief. The OP said that Republicans accuse ALL Democrats of being pedophiles. That Republicans think some judges have let pedophiles off the hook too lightly does not support that statement.

While this obvio ...[text shortened]... ntion span is roughly equal to that of a houseplant, that doesn't excuse patently unsound arguments.
It was a blatant play to the Qanon gallery I don’t know why you are downplaying the weight that these crazies are now pulling in the Republican Party.
I get that it’s a primary vote pulling tactic and will probably be, if not abandoned, then toned down in the actual elections but to pretend it’s a fringe activity within your party is just as dangerous as the tactic itself.
She was being accused of being soft on pedophiles not crime per se

Crazy people do not necessarily represent who they claim to represent. Were Democrats really going to eliminate the police? The support from even mainstream policy was far greater then anything Qanon advocates.
That being said eliminate the police is far closer to a dumb idea that isn't going to happen then the end of the United States, right?

.......Probably true...
My question;
Why do their GOP colleagues not denounce them?
(their wing-nut fellow Republicans?)

For the same reason democratic candidates don't denounce moronic ideas on the left like defunding police: you want votes even if its from crazy people.
Once again not denouncing dumb ideas isnt the end of democracy or the US.

I'm not a huge fan of Trump but I'm not a huge fan of many Democratic ideas either. (If you want to talk about Trump and Russia, it is worth mentioning that Putin wasn't willing to risk Trumps reaction to an invasion of the Ukraine, but he certainly doesnt seem afraid of Biden's reaction.)
But that's not the issue here people feel differently about different issues and ev ...[text shortened]... t find it absolutely crazy to think somehow democracy is over if we adopt some ideas of Republicans.
That brings up the question once again.....
Why didn't Putin invade the Ukraine while Trump was in office.

Well, my thoughts on that are........
Putin's larger goal is to eventually destroy NATO. Or render it irrelevant.
With someone like Trump in the White House, why bother spending all his money on the invasion when you have somebody who is openly talking abut NATO being obsolete.
Or talking about the US leaving NATO. That by itself would have made NATO irrelevant.
There has been some speculation that Trump might have further considered pulling the US from NATO if he had won in 2020.
Just my thoughts.

I don't think there is any basis for your beliefs of what would have happened if Trump won. But I certainly won't scream that your beliefs are ending Democracy or will end the US. We aren't endangered by ideas that don't exactly match our own.

Very unlikely.

Everything Trump does is about winning, and thereby massaging his enormous and insatiable ego. His screaming about NATO was a tactic to try to get more NATO funding from the Europeans. That would have been a big negotiation victory he could crow about.

But above all, an enormous ego wants power. And leadership of NATO gives the US tremendous power over resources it yields and controls. Trump would never give something like that up.

Republicans are pushing to end democracy, and of course from their truly sick minds they think they are somehow saving civilization but in reality what is going on is mainstream republican 'thought' is they think white people should run the US forever, in short, they are striving to turn the US into yet another banana republic with republicans in total charge of all three br ...[text shortened]... g of freedom and democracy here in our country, that used to be called the United States of America.
“ Biden right now is trying to fix some of the problems in the US like infrastructure”

Name one thing Biden has done

Many Democrats denounced defunding,
i was one of them/
What I wonder about is why The GOP
wasn't unanimous in their vote to award
THE CAPITOL POLICE a GOLD MEDAL after Jan/6.
as The Democratic Party was.
