It's not really as civilised as you make out.
It's the modern-day version of a siege (slow tactic with fewer casualties to one's own army).

It is more agreeable to bombing, but it's still targetting civilians.

No that 30 mile column of tanks surrounding Kyiv is the modern day version of a siege, unbelievable 🙄

Someone has to say it. They are not going to hurt Russian oligarchs. Sanctions are to hurt the common people of a country so they take it out on their government.

Why are we targeting innocent civilians and fooling ourselves into thinking it hurts their leaders? It only hurts their leaders if they are overthrown, but I don't see much of that happening to the countries that are being heavily sanctioned.
what specifically are you talking about

Well that’s a very dramatic interpretation to say the least. Russia isn’t some third world country trying to eke out a living on marginal land. It’s one of the biggest wheat growers on the planet with plentiful natural resources and more than enough capacity for making its own medicines etc. If the Russian people go in any way hungry due to these sanctions it’s because the P ...[text shortened]... he suffering of the Ukrainian people that you think it’s is somehow analogous with being sanctioned.
What is the purpose of a siege?
Hence that sanctions are the modern equivillent. Or however you spell that word…

You really haven't a clue, do you.
They asked, Willie 'The Actor,' Sutton,
the great bank robber, 'why a man of your
intelligence and abilities, chose to rob banks'?
''That's where they keep the money,'' Willie replied.

I don’t know how you spell it either but I would say sanctions are more analogous with being ex communicated. Whilst what Putin is doing to Kyiv and other cities are very similar to what the Crusader army did to Muslim held Jerusalem.
For a large resource filled country like Russia sanctions are purely an economic weapon that they will circumvent in time out if necessity.
I would say that the sanctions levelled against Saddam Hussain’s Iraq in the lead up to the 1st Iraq war were very much like a siege because they deprived the population of the basic necessities of life like food and medicine.

Smooth move COMRADE, evading answering the question with a question. Putin's boat just got seized by the Italian government, 3/4th of a BILLION dollar yacht Putin won't get to use now. That MUST pizz you off bigtime to see your mentor Putin in trouble.

I don't care about Putin. I care about all the innocent people dying in Ukraine that should not be dying. Biden wanted to use them as pawns in his proxy war though. He wasn't interested in avoiding war. He wanted this to happen.

Biden did not negotiate. Saying no to everything is not a negotiation. That is not an effort to avoid war.

Stop lying Putin knew full well that Ukraine wasn’t getting NATO membership and that he would have plenty of warning if they were.
This war is about Putin establishing ownership of Eastern and Central Europe he pretended to negotiate whilst preparing for the invasion he had decided on years ago.
You make the same mistake as your boss, the vast majority of people are just not that stupid.

Stop lying. Ukraine's seeking NATO membership is a major reason why he invaded Ukraine. NATO expansion has always been a sore spot with them.

Liar everyone in the real world including Putin and NATO knew Ukraine was never going to get the unanimous 30 nods it would need to gain NATO membership.
This is about westward Muscovite expansion, problem for Putin is he’s not dealing with poorly armed civilians in Aleppo or Grozny and no matter how much he shells the cities there will be a very well armed insurgency waiting to greet him when he finally gets into the city's.
