The introduction by Ted Cruz lists the people in the House, and Senate who were propelled there by Sarah. If she never again runs for office, she probably holds more power than most in office.

Essentially, that's what good politicians do. Romney's failure, and McCain's were that they didn't sufficiently energize their base. Polisci has always emphasized winning the middle, but that applies only after securing your base.
