This makes a lot of sense to get around vaxx hesitancy, though, of course, this could be disastrous if done poorly..!

But it does seem to be easy enough to manufacture a weaker version of the disease... and that is what a vaccine is.

I wonder what would happen, though, when this goes wrong. How would responsibility be divided. Very interesting topic.

The current vax doesn't work, you still catch wuflu even after 4 shots, you still pass it on, you may still require hospitalisation and you may still die at a rate similar to the unvaxxed. It has been an abject failure at least, but more likely the crime of the century.

Liar, you lie all the time, aren’t you ashamed of using the death of a relative to scare people into remaining unprotected.

I don't like the idea due to the potential for misuse. While you could say the same for vaccines at least you can get them in a government-approved medical environment.

There are multiple parties needed within the chain of manufacturing and delivering vaccines while potentially only party can alter pathogens in the air with little oversite.

With the Pfizer vaccines, you had the cooperation of multiple governments thoughout the world,, the CDC, WHO, independent researchers and the Pfizer company itself doing its own research and testing, as well as the input of pharmacies who distributed them. With attenuated vaccines one entity can make dangerous alterations to pathogens in secret.

It's a good idea in of itself but the possible ramifications are horrifying.

No, a vaccine is not always a weaker version of a disease, which is specifically what's called a live vaccine. The mRNA vaccines are not live vaccines, for instance.

Yeah, in retrospect, I believe you are right on this. mRNA is different and what I have described is a simplified understanding of the conventional, classic vaccine.

I concede the point.
