@dood111 saidSo your argument is that she wasn't adequately trained?
I never said that, quite the opposite, it's obvious she meant to taser him, not shoot him.
The way you people make assumptions is ridiculous.
And yet you argue against defunding the police. What are they spending their money on? Weapons of war? Coke parties? Certainly not training.

@contenchess saidYou would protest against your oppressors, too.
And when your non white friends express hatred towards whites you say nothing so be quiet and go sit down princess.
Oh, wait, you don't have any.
White privilege has become a disease in this country.

@contenchess saidThey don't need any, they've been at the top of the pyramid for a long time, now.
All I see are programs/benefits for blacks.
A lot of them.
Please inform us about the programs that benefit whites?
And all I see is white senators shooting down programs for blacks.
Are we in the same country?

I hadn't followed the trial closely, but apparently the prosecutor argued that Potter was "reckless" in even drawing any weapon as circumstances did not justify such an escalation of force (neither of the other officers on the scene did so). This was the theory behind the Manslaughter 1 charge.
The jury agreed beyond a reasonable doubt.

'The Great White North,'
also known as, Canada.
@no1marauder saidWell, what you gonna' say to

someone that trusts their fate to
12 people who weren't even sharp
enough to avoid jury duty.?
@dood111 saidYeah I watched he was no threat whatsoever unless your a gutless cretin. You lot have relied so heavily on your guns you crap it when something gets even mildly physical, even if you outman and outweigh the opponent.
He was OUT of the car being handcuffed when he started fighting with the male officer and jumped back in to take off. Something that he had done before and almost ran over two cops in the process.
I bet you haven't even watched the whole video, have you?
Guilty of manslaughter it is then, seems like justice to me, of course with her being white and him being black you’ll have a different take on it.
@no1marauder saidFair enough. It's a tough call. It doesn't seem right that such a person can walk away scot-free. But in the car analogy, if the person was not under the influence of drugs nor alcohol, was not doing something stupid such as racing on a highway, and hadn't done something stupid such as modify the car so that the gas pedal is swapped with the brake pedal, then I see no benefit to society to have that person sit in a jail cell either. If, for example, a wasp was loose in the car, I could easily find myself not wanting to hold a bad result against the driver who made a mistake.
Step on the gas when you intend to step on the brake and cause a fatal accident and you're likely to be charged with some type of vehicular homicide. That situation seems analogous to Potter's.
In a case I'm familiar with, two friends of my nephew went hunting (my nephew wasn't there at the time). Mistaking his friend for a deer, one shot the other and killed him. Both families are tragically affected forever. But in this case, no charges were filed, even though no one could argue the shooter was under any kind of duress when making the mistake. And the family who lost their son in this case did not want charges filed. They presumable reasoned that no benefit would come of it. After all, there is no compelling reason to get the other kid "off the streets".
If you had two sons, and one killed the other by "stepping on the gas instead of the brake", would you want your living son to sit in jail for it?
