I heard of an incident where a high school football player, who was poor, received a full football scholarship to football. To celebrate, he went to hotel with a girl; both were under the influence of drugs. She accused him of rape and now he is going to prison for 40 years. I don’t know what happen, and I am sorry for the girl, but that is a harsh punishment in my opinion. That’s why I think sex offenders are often treated to harshly not because I am a psycho.

Any way if you look at the evidence, I think it is favors his innocence.

ivanhoe, it's irrelevant whether this jury is sufficiently spooked by the high powered and high paid defense.

MJ has had too many little boys in too many compromising situations to leave reasonable doubt in anyone's mind and it's time he paid.

Next up: Simpson.

Gets my rec, the whole thing is a freaking circus.

It is brought in the media as entertainment ...... well, to tell you the truth ... when I saw him walking into court wearing his pyjamas, I thought he was cooperating very willingly, not with the court but with the media ..... know what I'm saying ?

It actually has nothing to do with whether or not anyone is guilty, the way it works is the person with the most expensive lawyer wins, the American criminal system is a joke. Look at OJ Simpson. Everyone knows MJ is guilty. where there's smoke there's fire and there's been smoke signals coming from neverland ranch for years. It actually doesnt matter, what goes around comes around and he'll pay in this life or the next.

When you turn "justice" over to trial by 12 of your peers, there is a good chance that they will make mistakes. Sometime murderers like OJ walk. Sometimes innocent people fry.

That is a hazard that we face. Is there a better way to "justice" than by trial by ones peers?

I can't think of any better ideas. Can you?

We DO have to live with the mistakes, or "blind justice" develops a walking stick and whacks people randomly as it "finds its way in a crowd".

Short of getting the court to appoint lawyers I don't think there is any other way, I just think it is typical of the America the way celebrities are raised up on a pedestal, and for a country where everybody has equal rights i find it curious how the rich and famous are treated with regards to the law. If everone has a right to a fair trial, it seems far fairer for certain people.

Think "Chimp Credits" as they relate to hiring a very charismatic person who can virtually persuade 12 people that satan is god. Or in the case of the government... that "god is satan". This is really rare. Chimps tend to know when they exit law school if they are mighty chimps or need to go to work for a government. There are no mighty chimps in government employ. That is good for justice, I think. It puts the burden of conviction on the "ordinary" amongst us.

That is what happens. Millions of dollars. Professional psychologists who study the jury. Then professional writers who write out scripts for lawyers. Acting coaches. For the lawyers who have more in common with a southern preacher than with Abe Lincoln.

Money can do miracles. But... that said. It still takes a willing 12 people to be fooled by such non-sense. Unfortunately, the worse our education system becomes, the more that "peers" are likely to make mistakes. In both directions.

Does everyone know that MJ is guilty? I don't. I haven't followed the media circus that is his trial in too much detail, but he strikes me as a confused, asexual person who would prefer to play with his many dolls...

In my opinion the general reaction to the trial is as unsavoury as his music...
