They'll pay their fair share in taxes, unlike you and your capitalist buddies.
Again, no surprise, you avoid the thread question.

Hey, wait......did you just make it personal about 'me'? Why do libs do that?

It is indeed. But this thread is my side-door effort to get libs to tell us that it is OK for him to keep his net winnings, but then to hypocritically say that other people have to pay a lot of tax out of their hard-earned money.
OR, OR,,,,for them to say that he needs to (should) hand over all of his winnings except for what he needs to have a comfortable life. Just hand it over. Someone here thinks that . Show Yourself!!
I don't like "side-door efforts". Sounds like "back room deals", another of your favorites.

"Hard-earned" money. Good one.

As i said already, at least this one will pay his fair share, unlike your corporate pals. He's just a regular dude, unlike your corporate pals.

So that makes ONE guy paying his fair share. Who's next?
finally, a lib using the phrase 'fair share' in a sentence. Can you tell us all what fair share is?

Try $200 million.

And he's not rich. If he's smart, he'll keep his job and still be a working class stiff. But now he'll have a safety cushion for retirement and a couple of things he's always wanted. Maybe a new car. Maybe a new house. But he'll still be the same person he was before. Let him have his dream.
Thanks for a very good answer. I agree. He keeps all that is left after State and Fed taxes.
But again, my issue, libs want to milk the rich for a large portion of their wealth. The $200M is a lot wealth to milk. On one anti-rich thread you will say get them to pay a LOT of their money to the government, though y'all never say how much.
But on this thread, you say do not milk his $200M. Which way, in the hell, do you want it?
I am so confused.

What is your question?
No one suggested that,
NO ONE SHOULD BE WEALTHY.
We just suggest that the TRUMP's and BEZOS's
and EXXON/MOBIL's pay their fair share...

Dunno, Warren Buffet wondered
aloud once as to why,
''my secretary pays a higher tax rate than I do?''

Really? That's amazing. Probably only for Canadians.

But if an American wins, the IRS will take half.
In Switzerland, a lottery payout as such is tax free, but at year-end your total net worth will be taxed, which will include your lottery winnings and any interest they earned.

Or, leave them the hell alone? This will be money they win on the backs of MANY others, to blow at their will. Is there any lib here who will come forward, after many demeaning threads of people who have money they did not earn, and tell us your true feelings of leaving this person alone, or attacking their 'ill-gotten'; gains. I know, I know, you dont like AvJOe, but what about this person. What are we to do!!??!!????
What the heck do you mean by "do something to the winner"? You mean, like tar and feather him, or what?

There is nothing ill-gotten about a lottery win.

What are we to do? Congratulate the lucky winner, of course.

You are right, too much !?!?...will refrain from that.

As to Item B above.....I have this question. There is no question that liberal policies are about equality, equity, whatever. Spreading the wealth, etc., many phrases about the same thing.
So in your plight to relieve rich people of their riches, to be spent as the govt sees fit, why would you say here that ...[text shortened]... will be done about seizing a portion of the $320M that will be pocketed by The Winner after taxes?
So in your plight to relieve rich people of their riches, to be spent as the govt sees fit, why would you say here that the $400M can be treated differently? That, 'Nothing at All' will be done about seizing a portion of the $320M that will be pocketed by The Winner after taxes?

Dear Joe - Everything is so childishly simple for you isn't it? This may go against what they teach you on FOX and friends, but just because someone is a liberal, this does NOT automatically mean we want to "relieve the rich from their riches" all most liberals want (myself included) is to make sure the 1% pay a minimum $$ amount in taxes, and to close some of their lavish tax loopholes, so they pay their fair share, so the rest of us don't have to make up the difference. There are many billionaires who pay nothing at all.

Hello - - is anyone listening out there? πŸ™„

Please get a perspective (as you avoid defining Fair Share πŸ€”).
Most of the tax burden falls on the highest earners.
The top 50% pay 97.1% of all individual income taxes. 97.1 !
The Bottom 50% pay Two Point Nine percent! 2.9% !
The legislators who know this is wrong have tried to change the program to be a Flat or Fair tax. With the million hours put into this study, we can stipulate that some smart people recognize the problem. The rich are supporting 50% of our population. So how many more people should the Rich support? Let us start with 'ALL' of them and work down from there to a fair number.
So, How Many should the rich support, and what would be their Fair Share? AvJoe being too simple? Why would you want this issue complicated?? Don't get you there.
AvJoe does think that the govt should support the lowest 40M people. So,how many more?
And make us laugh when you say libs are not about relieving the rich of their riches. You say you want to, in these very posts.
And you want to close their loopholes,,,,,,what about our loopholes ? Close those too? Or do you pick and choose....only the very rich, which gets back to the laugh that you don't want to do that. Of course you do. Even Benrie once said "$250,000/annum is about enough for people to enjoy life." Ha Ha, some grandchildren are costing us $100/k a year just for college tuition!!!! You guys have no realism about you. Make it all look easy to do, you dont think about a car manufacturer or Apple moving to another country. Do you, by the way??

In Canada, lottery winnings are tax free.
In Australia they are taxed before payout, so all at the same rate.
