We need to get our priorities straight. We still have 2 destroyed states that still look the way they did when the hurricane hit last year, people can't afford insurance and medicine, the military is lowering standards.....if we go after Iran for a perceived threat, the next step would be a draft...you want your kid getting shot at to spread democracy in a country where most people don't want the troops there? Look at Iraq. The pres. approval rating is already 37%. Let's have a draft and see what happens. Remember the protests in the 70s? We probably will see much more than that. Let's take care of our own...pisses me off my tax dollars is going for plants to rebeautify cities we bombed. Sorry for rambling....

for some type of national service based on their desires and intellect. Some could patrol our borders with Mexico and Canada. Some could guard our airports; replant deforested areas; train for combat in Iran/Iraq/Afghanistan. I say take the video game/ spleef out of their fat-grubby hands, whip them into shape and put them to work....give them 4 years of college for return...give the combat vets special status and privileges....Let's DRAFT!!!

No, but I'd be proud if my son/daughter joined the military. I come from a family rich with a history in defending the U.S. and the Confederacy.....freedom isn't free; sometimes it's paid for in the blood of young men and, these days, more and more young women....it should be paid for by politicians, their children, and older farts too....

I see you are from San Diego. That's where I was based when I was in...served 4 on a destroyer. Nice out there....almost settled there. Used to go to El Cajon alot. Has it changed much?
