@divegeester saidIt depends on the situation.
You are indeed the holiest holy one.
Do you think all unbiased news corporations should allow their on duty staff to make sectarian political statements whilst on the employers premises?
If you are reporting on the mass murder of children, it is acceptable to show emotions.
Don’t you think?
@shavixmir
The problem might be that the same people who are hard on Israe( and yes they do ahve a very valid point) seem not to be seeing any responsability on the Hams side.
For memory: The Hamas attacked Isdraelis on a music festival, killing and ebducting people, even children. About 100 are still hostages (or dead) and the Hamas and the people who live there seem to have very low interest in handing them back.
If they would it would most certainly increase the pressure on Israel to stop any action in the Gaza strip and call the troops back. As long as there are unaccounted hostages I predict hat Israel won't stop. And I can understand that. And no not everything they do is justified.
@divegeester saidOnly a fascist would have an issue with any corporation public or otherwise showing solidarity with any nation or group that had endured what the Palestinians have endured at the hands of the ultra right wing Israeli government.
According to the reports linked below, the publicly funded and allegedly unbiased BBC are not blocking a Unions drive for Corporation staff to show support for Palestine by wearing the colours of Palestine tomorrow, Friday. Whether this will happen or not remains to be seen but there are no reports of the BBC blocking it, which of course they should do being an unbiased n ...[text shortened]... bad behaviour (sexual language) case over a BBC Masterchef presenter kicked off today in the press.
My issue with the BBC was it allowed an IDF pig to update us on the situation in Gaza and it still allows Netanyahu and his henchmen airtime for blatant propaganda and denial.
If you have evidence of the BBC being biased in it’s actually reporting from the region then provide it. You know like offcom did against GB/ Brexit news
@divegeester saidErr ok Donald, a whole month? Why not the usual 24 hrs
I wish it was my problem because I would sort it within a month.
There would be a corporate statement on neutrality of ALL employees followed by a consultation period and then contract updates. Done.
These things are simple to solve.
@Ponderable saidYes and was rightly condemned on all fronts, especially on the BBC but it’s the Israelis who have killed 40 something more thousand innocents including new born babies burning alive in the rubble of their homes, so the condemnation of the Israeli regime should be 40 times stronger unless we believe Israeli babes are worth 40 times more empathy than Palestinian babies

@divegeester saidWhat is weird about that if true, was that so talking heads would be presenting a Gaza flag during their talk say about the weather? And BBC radio wouldn't have video so it wouldn't be a statement radio listeners would here or see🙂I listen to BBC on short wave radio.

No it wasn’t about that.
You clearly have no idea how corporations manage political neutrality within the workplace.
@divegeester saidConsidering the only thing I know about radio is from my amateur radio license, talk around the world and all that but to just other hams, normal people, very very few of them working as pro media.
It is true.

Obvious it is.
@sonhouse saidIf that’s the extent of your knowledge of the issue in play, then I politely suggest you stay out of it to avoid yourself further embarrassment.

@divegeester saidOh since I’ve last logged on Greg has gone all “my mental health” and the UK Labour Government have weighed in to [sort of] ask the BBC [which they govern] to ensure appropriate reporting processes are in place.
Greg Wallace scandal kicking right off. Looks like being yet another case of the BBC covering up abusive behaviour.
500,000 people cancelled their licence last year and it will probably be just as many this year.
Which zit will pop first the BBC or this terrible Labour government!
Popcorn out 🍿
@divegeester saidNeither son no matter how much you cry into Eton mess.
