I was being facetious.

Obama's stance on gay marriage is wrong.

I don't know of a single mainstream liberal who would put it so tritely. I know (and know of) numerous conservatives who think liberals would though.
You didn't expect me to praise President Obama without making sure to at least also get in a dig at liberals; did you? 😉 😛

If you provide a reference, I will read it. You have no basis in facts to suggest that I wouldn't.

I don't waste my time doing research to back up your statements. It's up to you to back up the claims you make, not up to me.

If you don't want to back them up with a reference then that's up to you, but don't whine when people dismiss it.

I don't care if you believe it or not. If you are interested in what I said you can easily google it. The source game is pretty much a waste of time unless you look and cant find it for some reason. I typed in Obamas original speach to schools. It was in outline form and several school districts rejected it. The white house decided to change it.

Yeah, I guess so. I imagine every joint in your hand was screaming in pain resisting your heroic efforts to type such praise. 😉

I did search for it and it was a wonderful waste of my time.

The most reliable source I found was that Rush Limbaugh made the claim that he did.

There was a lesson plan that was modified - and that I don't deny. There was no significant mention that I saw that he changed the speech itself.

It doesn't matter if you care or not if I believe it - I don't need you to. You can continue to whine when people ask you to support your statements all you want and then refuse to. I won't stop doing it because you don't care.

LOL.

Seriously, though, as hopefully is apparent from my posts, I (kinda, sorta) even like Obama. He's intelligent, hard working, ambitious and articulate. He seems to also be pragmatic and level headed and he's not an ideologue, which (after President Bush) is something I do appreciate. His cabinet and staff appointments (NOT including the czars) have generally been of moderate experienced smart people. If I had any fear that he really was going to govern as a leftist ideologue, those fears have been mostly dispelled in the last 8 months.

Now, there are some things about him that drive me nuts. I don't buy the explanation that he didn't know that Wright was an anti-American, racist clown for all those years and many of these czar appointments are so strange as to almost be inexplicable. I know he's just doing his best to turn the economy around, but I hate running the budget deficits so high. If he wants to increase spending, then have some guts and enact some of his promised his tax increases to offset it. And, where are the cuts of all the bureaucratic waste that he was going to use to cut the deficit?

But, all in all, I think we could do significantly worse in a President.

I definitely agree that he's smart and we could do much worse.

I have also been really disappointed by him, but possibly for some different reasons. My main problem is that he's been pretty spineless when it comes to fighting or even supporting the things he campaigned on.

I'm not asking him to be an ideologue, but he should be putting up a fight at least.

A tax increase right now is a terrible idea. What he needs to do is commit to tax increases in the future. Unfortunately, that's political suicide because most people (Repubs, Indies, and Dem's) get pissed off over tax increases.

At this point about 2/3 of the deficits we're running are due solely to the downturn in the economy. The other 1/3 comes from the spending that we've done as countercyclical policy. The good news is that when the economy comes back, tax revenues will increase considerably which will help mitigate deficits. The bad news is that unless Obama and Congress get serious about PayGo and go even further by reducing spending/entitlements and increasing taxes (across the board not just on the very rich) then higher tax revenues won't help a bit.

I hold out some hope that Obama is serious when he talks about wanting to get the fiscal problem under control once the economy is stable again. Unfortunately, the political realities are that even if he means to get tough on the budget we may still run large deficits.

This means you have more credibility when you analyze and criticize policy. You are an increasingly rare species on this forum in this respect. So many people here are flaunting their lack of credibility and willful intolerance as if sheer mania and freebasing fulmination enhances the case they make to others.

Do you have a source stating which web sites are reliable or not. Come on man you are in poor form here.
