Yes, I know that Trump is just an empty vessel into which right-wing, low-information voters pour all their rage and hatred over the sorry circumstances of their lives that, Fox propaganda notwithstanding, is really either their own damn fault or else the fault of the Republican party whose decades-long free-trade policies were instrumental in the decimation of the US manufacturing base, but, really, the bizarre smallness of the man is a breathtaking display of penile microscopy.
So he appeared at the National Association of Black Journalists convention to take questions. Here's an abridged outline of how it went:
1) He arrived on stage late, claiming there were "audio issues," when in reality he was arguing with the NABJ staffers when he learned that there would be live fact-checking of his responses to questions.
2) Before shuffling onto the stage finally, he goes to social media to lie right away about Kamala Harris having "disrespectfully refused" to attend the convention herself, when the reality is that she had prior commitments that made her unable to attend.
3) The first question from interviewer Rachel Scott of ABC News includes examples of statements he is on record as having made about black leaders and blacks in general. He immediately melts down into a weak, tiny orange puddle, calling ABC News "fake news," and does not answer the question posed. This is when he attacks the staff for alleged technical issues, in a classic example of transferred aggression.
4) A bit later, Trump says he "didn't know" Kamala Harris was black (she is half Jamaican), then calls her racial identity in question with classic racist dog whistles and balls-out fog horns. The bread-and-butter of latter-day GOP politicking.
5) The interview quickly goes "off the rails," noted one journalist in attendance about 10 minutes in. Trump has by this point tallied a slew of verifiable lies.
6) A Fox News journalist asks him an easy question about inflation, which he cannot seem to answer competently, and instead rants more about audio equipment. This is something one might expect when visiting a dementia ward.
7) He again demonstrates that he cannot pronounce "Kamala" correctly, as it is his way of mocking her personally during his repetitive and meandering rally speeches. The crowd schools him, and he manages to say the name right after that. He had forgotten that he was not bathing in the adoration of his cult members at this particular venue, apparently.
8) He goes on to lie about illegal immigrants being given the right to vote, lie about his court cases, and lie about his record. He also repeats the obvious lie that abortion-rights advocates want to make it legal to abort a baby after it is born.
9) He questions whether Kamala Harris ever passed the bar exam. Yes, she did.
10) He says he would pardon even those January 6th rioters who had assaulted police officers. That should go over well with cops, who usually support Republicans.
11) When Project 2025 is brought up (the 900-page modern US Christo-fascist analogue of Mein Kampf that Republican power-brokers seem to love), Trump buckles completely, seemingly unable to take any kind of pressure whatsoever, and abruptly skedaddles off the stage after a brief photo-op. This weak, childish intemperance is fairly typical of him, of course, and just by itself should disqualify him to be president, but his cult followers somehow see it as a strength.
Yes, the Trump campaign had spent a lot of resources trying to court black voters over the past year, but he may have just blown it all with his thin-skinned pettiness and inability to act like an adult when faced with questions asked by anyone but his most fawning supporters. He is incredibly small and weak.
@Soothfast saidI wish I had seen it.

Just read it on the BBC.
My God, the man is incompetence, wrapped up in stupidity, smothered in racism and sexism and served with mounds of lies.
Unbelievable.
@shavixmir saidThis was the event in a nutshell. As I said in another thread, he was supposed to answer questions (I don't think he actually answered any) for a full hour, but his own people pulled him after 34 minutes because it had become such a total embarrassment by that point. I guess the Project 2025 question was the final straw.

@Suzianne saidHaha.

Such a moron. No wonder the Mott’s of this planet want to rim his giant orange arse.
Good morning! I bet that’s exactly what you wanted to read to start the day off well!
🤣
@Soothfast
Trump is small. He routinely and deliberately mispronounces people’s names, and refers to them
with demeaning nicknames. This is childish, schoolboy playground stuff most people grow out of by age 13.
Trump I think expected to be treated with deference by the journalists, although he himself is invariably competitive with everyone. When the journalists came out swinging, I think he was taken aback. The interview in question showed So clearly that Trump cannot answer a question, cannot process any kind of criticism, and simply deflects and dodges, and ultimately runs away, when confronted with facts which do not please him. He’s a poser who’s been exposed.
@shavixmir saidIndeed. I must say, you never disappoint.
Haha.

I love it.
@divegeester saidTrump’s hands are small compared to men of similar height.
Great thread!
Trump is becoming a liability to the Republicans, they must be cringing when they watch stuff like this. He’s so out of his depth in this program and yes he forgot he’s not speaking in front of his moronic minions.
On a side note is it just me or does he have really small hands?
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/claudiakoerner/we-finally-know-the-true-size-of-donald-trumps-hands
He does, however, have an ego the size of Zaphod Beeblebrox’s.
@Kewpie saidSort of like an orange T-rex that’s had its teeth knocked out and is withering in the Sun?
It's not the size of his hands so much as the way he holds them up. He irresistibly reminds me of a boxing kangaroo. You know, those big australian beasties that have huge backsides and tiny little forepaws.
@divegeester saidJD "Just Dumb" Vance sticks his foot his mouth every time he opens it. He is not helping at all from what I've seen just making matters even worst. Not that Trump helps himself in any way shape or form. One of the most rudest people to run for President bar none.

@Very-Rusty saidNot only rude, but crude and vulgar. Money without taste or talent is an embarrassment.
