A reputable statistics and sociology journal is about to publish one of my papers analyzing the correlations between level/intensity of chess playing and a myriad of political attitudes with lifestyle choices and intersections with family life.
It's a very serious paper but I would summarize it as follows: The conclusion is that progressives are emotionally and intellectually challenged, bordering in cluster B personality, and are chronically unhappy.
Of course, the above insight is not included in the paper.
Science.
@Lionel-Hutz saidHi, it would of course be great if you posted a link to the article.

Please read your 2 statements above. You just informed us of your paper concluding a number of things about progressives - then you said "the above insight is not included in the paper"
Maybe you can explain to us why you just contradicted yourself. 😏
@mchill
So his paper, which will probably include some data on the given topic correlationbetween cherss ability and something, will be published.
There will be a bit of statistics arond that and it might be or not be insightful on the correlations.
His private conclusion, which he did not include in the paper, probably because it is not supported by his data he shares with us.
I am still interested to read the paper and see what it says.

Yes, I'll try to keep an open mind on this for now. Let us hope his "data" is less contradictory than his OP.
Some responses kind of proof my (private) point 🙂
Anyway, here it is, explained with play-doh figurines: Paper A crunches numbers, Opinion B consists of personal thoughts. Paper A will appear in Journal C. Opinion B is not included in Paper A but, instead, shared anonymously on Platform D just for the lulz.
Next round I can use crayons if play-doh was too complex.
@sonhouse saidAbsolutely. Did I achieve the goal?
@Lionel-Hutz
Is all this to rationalize why you are not even 1200 rating here?
@sonhouse saidI proved to you before, ratings dont mean shyt. Take as long as you want to make your move. I move within 5seconds of opening a game. Boring to set there mulling over a game.

Want a rematch?
@Lionel-Hutz saidHere is something that is actually interesting:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_nationalism
The interestingest part is this:
Christian nationalists feel that their values and religion are threatened and marginalized, and fear their freedom to preach their moral values will be no longer dominant at best or outlawed at worst. Experimental research found that support of Christian nationalism increased when Christian Americans were told of their demographic decline. Studies have shown Christian nationalists to exhibit higher levels of anger, depression, anxiety, and emotional distress. It has been theorized that Christian nationalists fear that they are "not living up to" God's expectations, and "fear the wrath and punishment" of not creating the country desired by God.
It is probably the case that anyone with extremist views, to the left or right, is more likely to be less happy. After all, one adopts extremist views, which are views not in sync with society at large, when one believes that society is fundamentally broken or dysfunctional in some way.
@Soothfast
That’s all very well, but what I really wanna know is, does JD Vance play chess? We already know that Trump would be a GM, if he wanted to, he just doesn’t want to.
@moonbus saidJD Vance I'm guessing plays checkers under the counsel of a Magic 8 Ball. If Trump croaks anytime in the next 4 years his first words will be "King me!"
