The post that was quoted here has been removedI took "recent" to mean "recently or currently in production" rather than the date the original version was designed. Since the only NATO countries to use MiGs are former Soviet Republics and satellite States with legacy equipment and the planes acquired by the US for evaluation and training purposes, and given that Britain only operates NATO built aircraft, it's not obvious what the relevance of your point was.
BAe systems are currently working on a replacement for the Eurofighter Typhoon, the Tempest, Leonardo of Italy are involved now. According to the Wikipedia page there are talks with Sweden. Basically these projects are unbelievably expensive and the political climate with regard to taxation for the last 40 years precludes sole development of fast jets because of the cost.
@moonbus saidI imagine not, but the image will likely have been obtained by a fairly junior staffer who I suspect wasn't given adequate instructions and lacked aircraft recognition skills. Whoever signed it off failed as well, assuming it wasn't deliberate sabotage by insiders. I don't really think there's a causal link between this and the Donaldo's Russian interests. It's a coincidence which has gained meaning because of the nature of his Presidency, a sort of Jungian synchronicity.
Attention to details is not the 'stable genius's' strong point.
