@Suzianne I have not been on this site for ever, and will probably not bother to read much of these posts, but, my 2 cents worth. The Dems lost because they are overtly, to all but the blind, the party of hate, racism and division and the people finally saw them for their true selves. If this needs an explanation then you are past teaching.

Trump is not someone who can be "normalized". I'm tired of hearing how he's just like any other president. He's an autocrat, and eventually, even the people who voted for him will be sorry. The right is not the "better half" in this scenario, but the bringers of the absolute worst America can offer. Now over half of America has been conned into believing this will be good for everyone. Maybe it will be for the top 1% or 2% of earners, but for everyone else, America will be far, far worse for the experience after four years. And if Trump somehow succeeds in making his dreams of avarice and power come true, he will likely be the last elected president ever. I'm sure he's got no problem overseeing the end of America as a country its citizens can be proud of.
This isn't just "sour grapes", like you and others believe. It is the end of America unless we are very, very vigilant. I hope to God I never have to say "I told you so."
If we ever do build a wall on our southern border, its main function will be to eventually keep Americans in, not others out.

He IS "that" bad.
Everyone on the left saw this coming as early as the day he announced in 2015. Trump has already showed us exactly who he is in all of his dealings and all the publicity he garnered for himself by doing these nasty things. As Maya Angelou said, WE believed him the FIRST time he showed us who he is.
But now most of the right has been conned beyond belief. They have bought into the biggest gaslighting campaign of all time. And not a single one of them can be a man and admit they've been conned.
All because a nation of women-haters can't have a woman president. And some racists can't have another black president.
And there is never enough proof for people who have dedicated their lives to their belief in the con.
