I highlighted the part in quotations and hit backspace and it disappeared but what is that supposed to accomplish? I don't see any functionality in that process.

@sonhouse saidBecause when you want to engage in discussion with someone, such as myself, who is posting sometimes lengthy replies across multiple threads and replying to multiple posts from multiple posters it is good etiquette to hit “quote” and then if required edit out the parts of the “lengthy” post so that people know exactly what it is you are referring to.

Something goes wrong when I do what you said, I hit quote on your post, highlighted the stuff to edit, hit backspace and hit post and it still comes up with a big red ERROR line.

Same thing, I can certainly X out that part of your post but after backspace and it goes away and hit post it still comes up with the big red ERROR.
