You know what, I had refrained from name calling, but you really are an idiot.

First you say the BBC is an anti-american news source, now you say that no other country is in violation of UN resolutions.

Do your homework or stay home.
they did not authorize because they were being bribed with oil for food money, along with france, russia, etc. You choose not to look at the facts or you are just ignorant. And what cease fire agreement to a war is Israel violating? You failed to mention that. And why dont you give me just 10 UN resolutions Israel is violating since you love to throw around statements with NO facts to support them.

As for no facts, can you provide some regarding the bribing of the whole United Nations?

As for Israel, try these:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/news/archive/2003/11/28/international1109EST0497.DTL

http://www.mediareviewnet.com/A%20little%20reminder%20about%20Israeli%20violations%20of%20UN%20resolutions.htm

Or if you don't believe those just google "Israel violation UN resolutions"

NimzovichLarsen,
You continue to post opinion without fact and you continue to look like an idiot. Next time do the research and come back with something substantial.

Roads I dealt with.
Water and sewer sytem are covered by rates. A type of user pays, not bad but councils need to get out of the arts, swimming pools etc.
Police, we've discussed before.

..and I believbe nukes are good for keeping the bad guys in line, the more widely spread the better.

I'm sorry if I came off a little harsh, and I'm sorry about your parents. But you have let that taint your view of the systems that are in place, that tend to work for most people most of the time. Let's make those systems better, not worse.

All very well when it's not YOUR parents and YOUR life.

The greatest improvement would be making them voluntary, the re-nationalisation of ACC and recent jacking of prices is an example of why gummint shouldn't be in this business.

Like I said it's doing the economy no harm, and is proven to reduce child poverty.

You got a problem with it? Get out and use that vote at the next elections, or even better - start a political party!

By the way, I've been a manager of the $7M development of a corporate energy and greenhouse emissions management system.
Thats because your taxes are so high to pay off all those Socialist programs you love so much.

I agree, though our petrol is far more expensive than America's.

i think eric clapton has sung it best of late... 'before you accuse me take a look at yourself.'

why has australia not signed onto kyoto. coal. vast reserves of australian coal that will keep traditional fossil powered electricity alive in our country for the next few decades without any slowdown.

we also have to get over the us of a mentality. the truth also is that out of the top 100 economic entities in the world today, more than 50 of them are no longer countries but large transnational corporations(multi nationals still give an impression of a host nation, yet these babies are slowly becoming something else) and the natural political constituency that they serve is you and me, westernised suburbia, mom and pop or blended family + .2 or 2.2 kids, whatever, and we all swear our true allegiance to a shopping mall, a supermarket freezer section and a blockbuster rental.

As much as you would like to preserve the diversity of culture in the world and consider yourself terribly correct in wanting the populations of poorer countries to value and apreciate their traditional ways of life, i think that that only serves to entrench a very patronising and arrogant view of the globe and is nothing more than eye wash to suggest that we could or should devolve.

the world runs on oil. if someone tried to injure your health by blockading your water supply I am sure you would take action. as lifeblood of the worlds economy, oil deserves the same access and lack of trauma in its recovery as water does.

Now unless you are going to suggest that it ws the US that actually orchestrated OPEC unification on oil in the 70's and started the cycle of greed and violence that began with the deposing of the shah of iran and now continues with an attempt to foster a democratic government in that region with the recent elections in iraq, then i dont know....

Thanks for agreeing with a point I've made in a number of other threads (not this one), which is that UN resolutions are absolutely meaningless...
