I think it is a good pick considering Alaska is one state that does not issue permits to carry concealed nor openly. They do not require you to have a permit to do so. This is a good step for him if he is to get votes from gun owners.
I believe women should have to get a permit for a gun. What do you think?
Well at least it shows that McCain believes in affirmative action.
One shouldn't be so sure she'll do badly in a debate with Biden (not that anybody actually votes on the basis of a VP debate); the bar will be set very low for her and if she manages to avoid major gaffes (which she probably will), she'll be adjudged an OK debater. But her views are little different from GW's in a year where those views are very likely to lead to big Democratic gains in the House and Senate. I don't think this appeal to tokenism is going to fool too many.

Paul Begala (a Clinton operative) was on a show (I think on CNN) this week and said he doesn't think McCain has "the guts" to pick a pro-choice candidate like Lieberman or Ridge. Several other Democrats have said the same thing.
The mainstream media was all excited when they thought McCain might go the pro-abortion route, knowing that such a move would cost him any shot at winning this election.
They were stunned with this pick.
The Dems are the last ones to be questioning Palin's "experience". Obama a/k/a the son of Zeus is less qualified to be POTUS than she is.
