Well it looks as if Sarah Palin who is governer of Alaska is now McCains running mate. It all makes sense to me, he is going after Hillary supporters. Additionally, he has made sure he is breaking the mold as well as his opponent in the sense that we will either have the first black president or first woman vice president. Most importantly, however, she's ...[text shortened]... s McCain is a better leader than himself. Does anyone think Hillary supporters will jump ship?
Most importantly though, she's authentic, something The One and Joe Biden are not. Why do the Democrats keep running elitists who look down upon the rest of us? They are going to lose their third presidential election in row. Bravisimo McCain!!!

U Idaho is in Moscow, so don't try tellin' me that she doesn't understand Russian. There was even a restaurant there called Cafe Spudnik--great pizza!!
Back in the day, Gambino's had pretty decent pizza. I haven't been there for a LONG time, but I've heard it was being re-built.

When I started working for Hewlett-Packard (don't ask how long ago) I was told that the U of I was consistently in the top 5 universities in the nation for HP's recruiting of electrical engineers. Go figure. I wouldn't write the lady off just because she went to a smallish school in the middle of farm country. Actually, given how lousy the top of the republican ticket looks I'd much prefer she was the nominee.

And she looks pretty HOT in those glasses. When was the last time you could say THAT about a VP pick! 😛

So what if she hasn't got experience in the Federal government? Neither did Reagan or Clinton. And I wouldn't argue that it hurt either of them. If anything I would PREFER that my president didn't come slithering out of that den of iniquity.

Yes, I'll take that over the Bush White House any day. Executive experience running something, anything that has a half-decent reputation among people that read and think, is far better.

If your argument is that lawyers read and think... ...surely you can only be half-right! 😉

You folks just don't understand the Hillary voters do you? They didn't want Hillary solely because she was a woman (most of 'em anyway). They wanted Hillary because she was one of the most qualified candidates period and she was a woman. Many felt she was being "passed over" for the job by a "less qualified" man.

Just picking any old, er young, woman doesn't do the trick. Hillary voters will not look kindly to Sarah Palin.
I don't expect that the large majority of Hillary supporters will jump ship because of the VP choice but as we all know, some voters vote soley according to race/sex. Therefore, I suspect the old coot will bag a few women or two....er....um.....you know what I mean. In addition I suspect some Hillary supporters are down right bitter and will vote for Obama to spite him. It is the unavoidable result of a close contest between Hillary and Obama. Heck, you have McCain coming out with commercials with sound clips from Hillary saying such things as McCain is a more qualified world leader than Obama.

I can just see McCain's biography during the Republican convention. John McCain........decorated war hero.........life long Senator.........Stud muffin!!.......vote for John McCain.

I think he knew that picking a black running mate was fruitless simply because those who vote according to race would rather see a black as president than vice president. Really, I think condi Rice would have been a great pick if it were not for her involvement in Mesopotamia.

The last time I checked, there's no one named Bush in this election, so maybe you're the one who'd better read and think a little more clearly.

They're all a bunch of elitists who are out of touch with normal folk and that's why they're going to lose a third election running another candidate who looks down on the rest of us.

So the black guy who came from nothing, raised by a single mother, and worked his way through college is the elitist, and the old rich white guy who can't remember how many houses he owns (7+) is somehow NOT out of touch?

Biden has 36 years of national leadership. Palin - 0

As for "governorship". The fact that GWB was "governor" didn't seem to help much...

JFK - none
Lincoln - none
truman - none
Washington - none
Madison - none

There are millions of "authentic" Americans all over this country. Doesn't make them qualified to be POTUS, does it?

I know it must be hard to polish this t-rd and try to sell it...

Why in the hell would you want a president that was just like "normal folk"? I sure wouldn't want someone like my siblings or neighbors to be prez. I LIKE having people that had good educations running the country.
