@soothfast saidMost first-world countries get none, and why should they?
Aid received per capita, per nation, in 2019:

The US gets none, along with dozens of other relatively wealthy nations. In the words of Gomer Pyle, "Surprise, surprise, surprise."
Australia are poor contributors, but we're still doing better than the US.
@soothfast saidI don't understand your post, sorry.
@Kewpie
Expect the goal posts to pick up passports when Joe returns.
@averagejoe1 saidSure, lots of foreign countries give money to America:
I dont think any country gives us money. I know we give billions, including to countries like Romania and Netherlands. And believe it or not, they accept it, while certain of their citizens say disparaging things about the USA. Given this fact, do you think these countries evolve more and more into having dependent citizens, who sort of take free money for granted?
A fair question.

@averagejoe1 saidGiven that the dollar is the currency of international trade and how the U.S economy benefits from its terms of trade there are not many countries who do not directly or indirectly give the US money.

Is this you flexing your economics professorship muscle again Joe?
@kevcvs57 saidIs this you rewriting a post, Kev? Trade? Try the issue. It is about aid from one country to another. We get zip. On the other hand, we lead the world. Y’all are welcome, I guess.

@soothfast saidYou were right about the goalposts. Now I get it.

@kewpie saidWell, I’ll be jiggered. I thought only Americans would be daft enough to outsource justice to privateers.
Unfortunately Australia has not only copied the idea, but we've gone overboard. The highest percentage of prisoners are in privately-run facilities.
On the other hand, not many actually get there. Community corrections orders and suspended sentences are the preferred punishments.

@averagejoe1 saidPerhaps if English was your first language your thread titles would leave a bit less to the imagination.

The facts remain the same that the international status quo that the US supports by way of aid and other means is a very favourable economic environment for US businesses and its treasury.
Sorry you cannot see past the end of your nose joe, perhaps that’s why your fellow Americans don’t want you and your types running the country anymore.

@kevcvs57 saidThe thread title is a simple question, which always poses an enigma for liberals. The way to answer it would be for you to tell us if the UK gives any money to the USA. Or, if any other country with which you are familiar gives money. Maybe you do, it was just a question. I always find it peculiar how liberals get so upset and emotional on the forum. Are you mad at me?

Geez.

@averagejoe1 saidYes Joe the UK gives money to the US every time it buys anything that is traded in dollars as does the rest of the world, your just not able to grasp international economics any better than you can grasp macro or probably micro economics.

Will I explain to you again about the supply and demand equation and how it effects prices ๐

@kevcvs57 saidForeign Aid (money, food or resources, given by one country to another) is not the same as ‘trade’ which you continue to refer to in this thread. So , your responses are irrelevant. You need more grasp.!!!!!

@soothfast saidThis table and its included map says it all. We're not talking about trade, or foreign investment, or business money in any form. Here. We're talking about mostly first-world governments giving a hand up, or a hand out, to third-world countries. The rich countries do it for the same motivations as rich people do it. And also for political reasons.

Most of the posts in this thread are off-topic. Some of us who come to this forum hope to learn something of the considered views of a broad spectrum of people who they normally would not meet.
