But then-president Trump ran up the third highest national debt of any U.S. president in history, and that was already before COVID hit; private citizen Trump bankrupted five companies (how can you bankrupt a casino??). Trump is a financial disaster area.

So, how is it that Gaetz doesn't get it??

Did you forget already? The dollars added to each household came from the federal reserve with trump's signature on the check. We didn't forget. He just handed out trillions in free money (that he didn't have) to people, some of it went overseas, no questions asked. The largest bailout in US history, without even thinking about how it would be paid for. Here ya go.

Until you give us a link, showing that the increase in household income factored in free money from the government, I will stand by the statement of an economist who said that that was earned income. No, I cannot remember where I saw it. That is OK, for purposes of this discussion, because we will just let you show us where the $5000 or whatever included free money from the government.

In just one of the two bills signed by trump, one of Mott's "households" with 3 kids in tow got $4,000 cash. Trump's name was on the check. Just because trump loves them. Free stuff!

Where did that money come from? Did any republican at the time say anything about how to pay for it?
