@wildgrass saidYour hate has clouded your brain.
Any criminal other than trump and you sycophants would see the logic. Appeals process sometimes will overturn the ruling of a felony, but that doesnt mean the felony did not exist.
Convicted of felony crimes, you're a felon. If you think the felon was wrongly convicted, that doesn't magically make the felony disappear.
The MAGA cult does the same thing with elections. ...[text shortened]... ve won the election?
You would be capable of taking the loss and moving on, but you're in a cult.

@KellyJay saidI didn't say that. You did.
You are saying every accounting error is a felony, so if you make a mistake on taxes, then you are guilty and should be prosecuted. Even if you are the CEO and someone in accounting does it, it's jail time for you. You are justifying a lawfare, if this becomes acceptable then no one is safe.
Trump falsified business records. Businessmen know not to do this. They know it is illegal. The trial defendants admitted they did this and knew what they were doing was illegal. They thought they were above the law, that they would not be caught.

@wildgrass saidDid you watch the trial did you see at any point that Trump directed a false statement about anything in any record? The amount of effort in charging him over that were applied to crime in the city it would be a different place. Only the heavily bias see that as true justice.

@KellyJay saidAnd the right continues to embarrass themselves with opinions like this.

@KellyJay saidThe amount of effort would have been significantly less had he agreed to a plea deal.

The case was obvious. There's a paper trail. His employees and friends testified that they knew what they were doing was illegal and they were doing it at Trump's direction. Trump's legal team didn't even offer a competing narrative, which is what usually happens when things go to trial. He thought he wouldn't get caught.
Taking this to trial was a Trump show to beg for donations. Oh please tell me you don't donate to his campaign? The campaign of grift.

@wildgrass saidI am talking about the level and type of crime you are talking about a person as if he makes a difference or distinction in this conversation.

@wildgrass saidHaving someone in a company make a mistake in accounting doesn’t rise to the level of federal crime, you act as if there is some law specifically broken, what law are you referring to that caused the accounting issues to be felonies?

@KellyJay saidThe witnesses (Trump's employees) didn't say they made a mistake in accounting. Trump's lawyers didn't make this argument either. You're making things up.

No1 posted the legalese many many times in other threads. This was an open-shut obvious case of deliberate fraud. It should have settled out of court, speaking to your tax dollar argument.
@KellyJay saidThere was no mistake, it was fraud, which Trump was well aware of.

This is what I mean about you Trump acolytes embarrassing yourselves.
You act as if Trump is a normal businessman.
He's a fraud, and a grifter, like his entire family. You people stick your collective necks out to give him legitimacy, and you lose every time, but you never learn and keep coming back for more.
Fyi, fraud IS a federal crime when it is perpetrated on Federal institutions.

@Suzianne saidCall it whatever you want, you can not point to any specific reason to say Trump was aware of it or directed it to occur. Nothing can stop you from blaming him, it’s being specific with respect to his involvement was never established.

@wildgrass saidnah, its only a misdemeanor ...but you see thru a queer lense
NYPD budget is massive. Massive.
They need to enforce all laws not just the ones that you care about. If lawmakers who new Yorkers vote for don't like the laws, they change them.
Given the finance-heavy industry in NYC, falsifying business records is a big deal. Companies know this.
