On another note, on the topic of "when he was President", one of the things that came out on the tapes yesterday was Trump gave an order to have US troops out of Somalia and Afghanistan before Biden came to office.
As I have said in the past, I placed the blame on the Afghanistan mess on Trump.
That little piece I heard yesterday just confirms my position.
Trump wanted to throw the incoming administration under the bus on Afghanistan.
Biden could have handled it better, but Trump fired the starter gun for the Taliban.

Trump was working against his country. And for himself.
If anyone wants to start any post mortem in what happened in Afghanistan, the smart first comment would be not enough troops.
That is on Trump.
As to the border, that has been around for several presidents.

How about fixing immigration ?
That might take some off the illegal stuff.
The problem is that Trump racialized the issue which hampers improving the immigration system.
