If Biden steps down, there's no time for a whole new set of primaries - which are regulated by State laws. So why would any Democrat have a problem with his replacement being selected according to the party rules?
Because a selection by a privately owned corporation is wrong.
It is anti democracy.

Because it stabs democracy in the heart.
You want minority rule to fight Trump.

You are willing to betray democracy to fight the bogeyman.

You don't make any sense; if Biden steps down, what are the Democrats supposed to do?

There's an election in November, that's "democracy" or at least as much as the US gets with the present system. The Democrats running a candidate in it hardly "betrays democracy."

Why is nobody asking this question?

There is no existing legal mechanism for a nationwide primary like you suggest.

And the individual States would all have to alter their laws to accommodate a second Democratic primary which isn't going to happen.

So you have to sacrifice democracy to keep the evil dictator out of office.
Are you willing to sacrifice democracy to keep the bogeyman from getting a second term?

I guess less than average Joe thinks everyone in California is gay.

It is SO funny all the ultrarightwingnuts here parsing out who will be nominated and such. They are having a love fest at this prognostication game.
But Biden IS running and has said will NOT step down.

They weren't in a "locker room" but in a parking lot right next to a bus that said the name of the TV show, Access Hollywood.

And Trump was talking to the co-host of that show and both were wearing microphones.

Because nobody is trying.

Your party sure is determined to give up their vote. Why not just skip elections and let the DNC and RNC select candidates? You don't seem to mind that they are privately owned corporations. They make up debate criteria as they go along to exclude candidates from the debates. They don't have to follow their own rules and they openly say they can favor one candidate over the other. FU, we do what we want in other words.

A quick vote is impossible? I am skeptical.

TFB. That doesn't make his comments to a TV show host during an interview "private".

Will you be happy with Michelle Obama being selected instead of elected?
Will you accept you will have no vote in the matter at all for the all important goal of keeping Trump from getting another term?

The DNC is a privately own corporation. They do not have to follow their own rules. The DNC (and the RNC for that matter) can hijack your primary ele ...[text shortened]... irst lady and Hunter is afraid he will go to prison if his dad isn't POTUS anymore and guess who is?

If I am talking to my wife, or to a businessman at a pub, or in a trailer, it is private. But a lib does not recognize the concept of privacy. Think about it.
Sure, Someone may overhear me say to my wife I want a divorce, so it’s being private can still be overheard by someone else. Someone heard Trump say something private.
Add to that the nature of male bonding with locker room talk. Libs will run with it it!!! It is so Candy ass. Libs are in effect saying locker room talk is offeennnnnnsive and should never be allowed.
I guess that your being so contrarian on every possible issue makes the forum all fat and healthy.
