Trump would not say "racial jungle Joe", but now that Joe has dropped out of the race he doesn't have to. No need to beat a dead horse, but why doesn't he call Kamala "Prison Slavery Kamala"?

So nice of Trump to go easy on her. Doesn't Trump want to beat Kamala? All he has to do is call her "Prison Slavery Kamala". Why is Trump being so nice to her? Is their political rivalry as fake as pro wrestling? All an act for show?

You are relentlessly stupid.

Had to reach ALL the way back to 2019 for that one, eh?

You posted a link thoroughly debunking all of Gabbard's claims about Harris (https://www.cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/news/analysis-tulsi-gabbard-kamala-harris/), yet persist in "thinking" that they are somehow damaging against her.

California has been using prisoners to fight wildfires since WWII (a voluntary program gaining them extra time served credit) and they even pay them (admittedly a rather paltry amount). The program long predates Harris' term at Attorney General and continues to this day.:

"For decades, California has taken a two-birds-with-one-stone approach to these problems. It has trained about 2,600 prisoners to deploy alongside professional firefighters and do much of the same work for about $1 an hour.

While critics have compared that to slave labor, California said it’s vital to fire suppression; prisoners have at times accounted for about a third of the state’s firefighting force.

Men, women and juvenile inmates live in more than 40 fire camps nestled around every corner of the state. During blazes, they cut firebreaks and light prescribed burns — the same kind of work as professional firefighters, only they wear orange uniforms instead of the yellow of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection
(Cal Fire).

The work is hard and dangerous, but life in the camps is more relaxed than in the prison yard. Visitors can spend the night, and some camps have board games and barbecues (charcoal not included). At least one has a children’s playground. Alcohol is banned, but outside food is not.

"I’ve seen a ton of families take pre-made meals, like pasta salads, soup, all kinds of meats, carne asada, hot dogs, burgers, they take juice containers, a pack of soda, stuff to make their own sandwiches with," a woman wrote last year on a forum for prisoners’ friends and family.

"As long as you pack for a ‘picnic’ you’ll be fine," she advised other visitors.

The prisoners also get another perk: two days’ credit toward their sentence for every day working at a fire camp."

They could also not let everything that falls off a tree or plant die and pile up waiting on a fire. Silly people.

Are there any limits on the crimes committed and being able to get time off?

They're prisoners in minimum security facilities. I assume that means Level 1 or 2s which are composed of " inmates with short sentences for non-violent, non-serious, non-sexual offenses (L1) and " short-term offenders convicted of property or drug crimes L2)". https://prisoninside.com/level-1-level-2-level-3-level-4-and-level-5-prisons-in-california/

And now another bushfire has burned 180000 acres in California so they need every hand they can get. This time proven arson.

And a lie so ridiculous even Trump won't use it? No lie is too low for Trump to use, but Gabbard said it first spoiling Trump's first use so he wouldn't want to be called a copycat would he?

Gabbard's a Fox News talking head these days, so I doubt Donald would have any problem using her lies if he found it politically useful.

I already told you why; it's too ridiculous a lie even for Trump, though apparently not for you.

There is no "prison labor scandal". And the argument that Kamala Harris was too tough on criminals isn't going to sell in a general election.

If you ever bothered to read the links you provide, you'd have found this last week:

"The 2014 incident to which this refers was a fight over the early release of prisoners not holding past their sentence.

After California was ordered to reduce the population of overcrowded prisons, the state was sued by plaintiffs who claimed it was slow-walking the release of prisoners. At the time, the state encouraged certain "minimum custody" prisoners to help fight wildfires by offering them two years credit for every year served (2-for-1 program).

Plaintiffs in the case, Plata v. Brown, wanted all minimum-custody inmates to be granted the 2-for-1 program, including people who performed less-dangerous, non-fire labor.

Attorneys for attorney general Harris argued, among other things, that expanding the 2-for-1 program would remove the incentive to join the fire teams: "Extending 2-for-1 credits to all minimum custody inmates at this time would severely impact fire camp participation -- a dangerous outcome while California is in the middle of a difficult fire season and severe drought."

The AG's office also argued that granting 2-for-1 early release to the non-fire laborers "would result in higher turnover [of those workers] and an even greater demand for minimum-custody inmates [forcing the state] to draw down its fire camp population to fill these vital ... positions." [See PDF]

The L.A. Times reported on the arguments and Harris claimed to be "shocked" at the news.

Later she said, "The way that argument played out in court does not reflect my priorities."

The court ordered the parties to negotiate and, about a month after Harris was apparently made aware of her office's arguments, the state agreed to give 2-for-1 credits to all minimum-custody prisoners who have not committed a violent crime and do not have a "prior strike" enhancement."
