I havn't seen any evidence that people in NK are really starving as my government constantly claims. Maybe that is pure propaganda, or maybe some people do go hungry but it is not because of a shortage of food.

Where is the evidence of these claims? I have not seen any. Have you?

Have you sought out evidence of the alleged famine in North Korea between 1996 and 1998, for instance? I mean, either way - whether it did or it didn't happen - just so that you could talk online about what is happening to the North Korean people with confidence and authority?

What is the North Korean Government doing to safeguard the country from another occurrence of famine ? Would you say that spending billions on building a nuclear reactor is a step in the right direction?

Who has the first responsibility to ensure the survival/development of the North Korean people
- the USA
- the UN
- the NK Govt
- the people of North Korea?

How bout leave them the #### alone?

Just have an understanding with them that if they use one of those weapons, it will be the last day North Korea ever sees the sun rise.

Either that, or we can try to piss them all off by embargos and no fly zones and endless dimplomatic idiocy to further enrage them.

Who do you mean by "them"? The military dictatorship or the 25 million people under its yoke?

Let's assume people are in danger of starving in NK. Maybe if their government wasn't so concerned the government of the USA and SK is going to invade they would spend less money on the military and more on farming food. Who is to blame for NK feeling they are in danger of invasion?

The USA?
South Korea?
Both?
Little green men from Mars?

Change will only come from within. Anybody who thinks change will come from outside pressure is delusional.

A sane leader does not brutally terrorize his own population.

Okay, I'm not using "sanity" as a clinical term in this context. I'm using it in the context that we don't want such an incredibly brutal regime to acquire nukes.

And what if they sell a nuke to AQ or some other organization?

Insane leaders seem do be a dime a dozen in this world. Why the double standard?

By the way, NK already has acquired nukes just as China has. You must be confusing Iran with NK or something. As far as nations like Iran acquiring nukes, you should ask why Pakistan was able to acquire nukes without crippling sanctions imposed.

I have noticed that many nations that were controlled by the British Empire do not receive the kind of scrutiny as other nations that may have more independence. Do you see this as a mere coincidence?

You contend that the human rights situation in North Korea is no better or worse than that in China in 2012?
