You're not an Arab? What the hell is an Arab American who's not an Arab?
I'm half Celt, but I'm not Irish. If you want to call me by racial terms call me a Celt (or a chicano).
I apologize for calling you by a false term. I was trying to make a point.

It seems that the only feather in the cap of our Democrat-controlled Congress is about ready to molt:
From The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
“The federal minimum wage will rise to $6.55 an hour on Thursday, the second of three annual 70-cent increases passed by Congress last May. With housing markets collapsing, financial markets in disarra ...[text shortened]... income families.

Another right wing measure designed to take money out of the taxpayer and give it to the corporations. Except in this case they want to decrease the tax on corporations also...it's a double whammy!! GREAT!!!!!
Smart, real smart.

Like at GM where they have a strong union but will have to shed thousands of jobs soon?
Sure, blame the worker because GM makes junk vehicles.

How? Bloated deals have provided unionized auto workers with an average wage of nearly $65 an hour. Consequently, GM is on the verge of bankruptcy.
GM is facing bankruptcy because they have too many product lines, and they make vehicles that not enough people want to buy. They used to be #1 in vehicle sales worldwide and now frickin Toyota sells more than they do. The workers have given up wage concessions in the last round of bargaining. Don't blame the workers.
You can't make a profit if you don't sell your product.
Originally posted by uzlessWhy can't they make better cars? Because they have no money for R&D since they're strong-armed into paying union employees $65 an hour and lifetime health care. There's a $2,500 "legacy" cost on every vehicle that comes off the assembly line at GM. It's no wonder they're shedding jobs as fast as they can.
