They're two of the richest U.S. citizens and can choose wherever they think they will receive the best health care...interestingly enough, they chose the United States.

It's only fine if your life is so bad that you would wish for the collapse of current economic order and civil authority so that you might inherit the rubble.

When then, if it is good for everybody to be well-employed with a good wage then we should all get the same rate too.

My life's ok, thanks.

But I do more than wish for the collapse of the current economic order - I actively work towards it. Wishing on its own doesn't work.

Actually, just cos you're rich doesn't mean you can choose where you like. Cuba's healthcare system doesn't work like that.

If you like.

I'd settle for a decent minimum rate for starters.

The fact that two of the richest U.S. citizens chose to be treated in the United States shows only that U.S. health care is great IF you are rich enough to afford the best the market can offer. If I was a multimillionaire I would indeed choose to be treated in a private hospital in the United States.

On the other hand, if I was poor, I might be grateful for universal health care. Cuba has the highest life expectancy in Latin America. They must be doing something right!

TOTAL BS once again.

They have spent a tonne of cash on Research and Development...think the Chevy Volt for example.

GM has relied on selling big giant trucks and SUV's to Americans to drive their profits and sold their passenger cars as an afterthought The cars were/are junk so when the price of gas goes through the roof, and people stop buying GM's gas guzzling trucks and Suv's all they have left are their junk cars to peddle, which no one wants.

Toyota is the #1 selling company for a reason. And it has nothing to do with labour costs because Toyota's vehicles are MORE EXPENSIVE THAN GM's ffs.

It's about QUALITY and value for your money.

Really dsr, you should put more thoughts into your posts because lately, you sound worse than Mr. Bush trying to explain the housing crisis. Maybe you're drunk too?

He probably is drunk. With his friend Mr. Soon-to-be-ex-President (😀) Bush.

The evidence suggests that a minimum wage increase does not have any significantly negative effect on employment and does accomplish its stated goal i.e. to raise the living standards of the lowest paid workers. http://www.epi.org/content.cfm/briefingpapers_min_wage_bp

I'll check it out.

EDIT - Like most scientific papers, it's dense and wordy with jargon. I skimmed it and it seems that your summary is reasonable as far as I can tell. It's certainly a better source than my little diagram.

So it seems that the hypothesis that mimimum wages decrease employment has no verification as far as I can tell.
