Lots of people have lots of opinions on Hamas winning the Palestinian elections. But take a look at these quotes:
Acting Israeli Prime-minister:
"The state of Israel will not negotiate with a Palestinian administration if even part of it is an armed terrorist organization calling for the destruction of the state of Israel."
George W. Bush:
"The United States does not support a political party that wants to destroy our ally Israel. People must renounce that part of their platform. A political party that articulates the destruction of Israel as part of its platform is a party with which we will not deal."
Kofi Annan:
"Any group that wishes to participate in the democratic process should ultimately disarm because to carry weapons and participate in a democratic process and sit in parliament, there is a fundamental contradiction and I'm sure they [Hamas] are thinking about that too."
Tony Blair:
"It is important for Hamas to understand that there comes a point - and that point is now following that strong showing - where they have to decide between a path of democracy or a path of violence."
Wait a bloody minute though!!!
I did see Israeli tanks demolishing Palestinian homes, infra-structure and the whole of Ramalla, didn't I?
I did see George and Tony use extreme violence in ousting Saddam, because of "What-ever reasons and lies they could think up", didn't I?
And doesn't the UN have an armed wing...called NATO or something? A UN peace keeping force, or whatever? Doesn't the UN have soldiers with guns who shoot little people in Africa???
Or am I dreaming this crap up???
It would seem to me that there's the distinctive aroma of hypocrisy in the air today babies...
Hell yeah.
We can have guns, they cannot.
We can invade their lands, they cannot wish us ousted.
We can, they can't.
We can, they can't.
Mhmmmm.... Yes, twisted and evil the west has become. Tainted with the dark side it is.
"We want regime change in Cuba, Iran, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, etc. etc. etc."
Just don't demand the same from us or our evil allies who have young men testicularly tortured.
I bet Ivanhoe doesn't know about the Israeli torture camps where 14 year old Palestinians get their nuts roasted on a daily basis.
READ SOME AMNESTY YOU SCREW-WIT!
Now, if this blatant hypocrisy gets on my tits, weighing my nipples down to such an extent I feel the dark side creeping in and myself losing my temper...what do you think this hypocrisy does to the folk in the Middle-East...
mhmmmm...
Ponder it you should, because your children will suffer the consequences of your actions.

The Nazis, I mean Israelis, are in a similar position to the South African Nazis, I mean Nationalists, a little over ten years ago. Both sides need more Midnight Oil.

Most sensible quote of the lot.
Isn't it the basis on which every democracy sustains its power?
Whether you control the armed forces or you are the armed forces?
Don't you think that dialogue instead of shunning is a more healthy approach?
Not one Western country has said: "Congradulations." to Hamas. How's that gonna sit, do you think?
Not one.
We didn't get who WE wanted. It doesn't really matter what THEY want. That's the way the West has started thinking (Thank you U.S. for making it so blatantly and overtly possible).
It makes me sick.

A fact's a fact
It belongs to them
Let's give it back
How can we dance when our earth is turning
How do we sleep while our beds are burning.............
Midnight Oil.
This is classic too:
"Mr Bush portrayed the strong Hamas showing as more a reflection of discontent among Palestinians about the way they were being governed, rather than anger at the situation with Israel."

The man is away with the fairies. I swear to God there's something wrong with him, his advisors and his PR consultancy office!
the current world situation is sort of similar to that HGTTG moment when this woman finally works out what's been going wrong with civilization all these millenia and has this epiphany, that all it would take to finally achieve happiness and harmony on this planet would be for everyone to just start being nice to everyone else, but she never got to publish her watershed moment because that was the day that the vogon constructor fleet arrived to destroy earth, to make way for the intersteller bypass that earth just happened to be sitting in the middle of.

The government controls the armed forces, not the political party, though.
I also don't think it's good to have an elected political party with the objective of destroying a country in their charter.
I actually think that not removing it makes it legitimate for Israel to consider it as an enemy and a threat to their existence.
It is also legitimate for Palestinians to consider many of Israel's acts as acts of war, but I don't see Palestine's interest in an open war against Israel.
If the charter is old, ammend it or else it will clearly show there is no intention for peace, only for post-ponement of the war to a more appropriate moment.
