@no1marauder saidRidiculing? I'm saying they're being a bit conservative with their language (as medical information sites almost always are). Only in no1-world does that constitute ridiculing.
Who said he recovered? He was released from the hospital to a place which has a world class medical facility staffed by two dozen health professionals. And his doctors have been extremely vague about his condition, though it was mentioned he was coughing up a storm chatting with Hannity last night. https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/09/media/trump-coughs-on-fox-news/index.html

It's not 20% cases that are hospitalized. It's 4th or 5th of that, or less. But that's a side issue.
Anyway, as I tried to explain (perhaps not very clearly), you're conflating respiratory distress with being contagious. If someone is having trouble maintaining oxygen level due to remaining lung fluid or damage, that's not the same thing as saying they're contagious.
Trump may (or may not) be still struggling with oxygen level because of the after-effects of the pneumonia, but he's almost certainly not contagious (which the WH doc confirmed yesterday).
Dexamethasone is used to tamp down the immune system after an overreaction and cytokine/bradykinin storm. The treatment has nothing to do with whether the patient is still contagious.
Edit: Actually, steroids decrease the ability of the patient to fight the virus because they lowed immune reaction. That's why they are typically given to patients only after the acute viral phase.

@no1marauder saidhis doctor says different...by what measure are you qualified to make medical decisions?
He was hospitalized, took experimental drugs and is still on steroids. I would say that makes his case "severe" and warrants the 20 day period.
and you have no idea if Trump is taking any medications.

@shavixmir saidNot sure why but ok. US pop 331,000,000 deaths = 0.664/1000 in 9 or so months. that proves my point. why is it so low. And note that the death rates going forward are much lower. This is the official count, but, if the WHO is right, the figures are probably even less scary.
Perhaps you should believe a little less and look at the 217.000 deaths in the US instead.
And BTW I did not say I believed, I said WHO believed but I don't trust them anyway, so.
17,900,000 die each year from cvd's. The trillions spent worldwide could have save many many many young lives.

@shavixmir saidSorry, I thought it was "you" that said I should look at the US. So I did, and as I said, I was not sure why, perhaps you can explain why? Or rather "what" I am meant to look at.

A ππ as a president?
Incels... proud boys... vigilantes... forest fires... flooding...
There’s so much to see, yet you tell us what you believe. And what you believe is so void of the facts that surround you, that it just comes off as if you’re detached; parallized by fear; clutching anything but reality.
I probably just wanted to point that out to you.

@shavixmir saidThough they do concern me I do not fear the floods nor the fires, sad as they are. I most certainly do not fear the virus. No fear here regarding that.

I am living on a planet and being constantly told to be scared. I am not.
And again, only pointing out the data according to the WHO.
And void of facts, really, that is all I quoted from the WHO and worldometer. It is not what "I" believe, it is what the WHO tells me. Granted it is my opinion that these numbers are low, but how do you see it that it is me that is scared when I see it as you that is scared, at least more so.
I am scared of the damage caused by the lockdowns way more than I am of the virus, though that is not at all.
