Its even on Amazon.co.uk for sale since the 6th os Sept

Thats odd...your right that region 2 was released on 9/6. The US release will be 12/21. Never knew there was an almost 4 month difference. That comes in very handy to know 🙂

Hah...it was almost 4 months later in the US so it was "delayed" the same length till the DVD was introduced.

Generally I think you should just go with films worthy of DVD i.e. they make the most of digital image and sound otherwise you may as well stick to video. Unless of course it is a film you can watch lots of times and get something new from it each time (e.g. K-Pax) or classics such as Pulp Fiction (watching it right now strangely enough - yes...I am capable of multi- tasking)

Some suggestions:
Mission Impossible 2
Gladiator
Star Wars 1/2
Lord of the Rings (EXTENDED editions)

Matrix Triolgy
Alien Quadrilogy (Special Edition)
There Something MORE about Mary.

I have heaps more, but can't be bothered to post em.

Oh come now...there is no difference between DVD's and videos. What was good on video will be equally essential on DVD...

1. The Blues brothers.
Watch it whilst drinking beer.

2. Indiana Jones trilogy
OBVIOUSLY A MUST. Skip part 2 if you don't have enough beer in the crate though...

3. The Star Wars trilogy.
Duh. If you don't have it, get a life. Seriously. Stop living.

4. The rocky horror picture show
Only watch this with a bunch of people. Preferably people who have seen it in the cinema.

5. The big Lebowski
Funniest film ever made. Watch it whilst stoned and mixing milk with kehula and vodka.

6. Pulp fiction
Arguably the best film ever made. Watch it whilst drinking expensive champaign.

7. Drowning Mona
Not everyone's choices. But it is very classy. Sort of like Fargo. Watch it with m&m's without nuts. Maybe a couple of cans of beer to supplement it all!

8. Jesus christ superstar.
Best muscial ever made. Watch it however you like, but not on LSD. That just freaks you out.

9. Titanic.
Watch it sober, get depressed and slit your wrists. You'll admire your perseverence in the morning.

10. Soilent green
Watch it, drinking 0..50 literes of beer per half hour.
