what do you get a 13 year old girl for christmas (she's my sister, i'm not a peadophile. well, not on tuesdays anyway...) that isn't a CD or computer game or DVD? (or VHS for that matter.) i was thinking along the lines of a book, but there is so many to choose from! she's just at that age that it's hard to think up something...
any ideas, people?
also, a small chess set has crossed my mind...
Get an idea from the horses mouth so to speak.

Maybe the human race isn't so bad after all.
OK, I won't destroy the universe tomorrow after all.

i don't think a gift certificate is the best idea. i mean, she would like it but it doesn't mean anything. it's what you get if you can't think what to get someone. just because that is the case does not mean i have to succumb to the cleiche...it also takes the fun out of getting something...
asking her also deprives me of my fun.
and taking her out won't be a present as i'll probably do it anyway. she's not seen narnia yet...!
and i can't drive.
It`s your sister you must have at least an idea of what she likes? If you don`t wait till she goes out go into her room and you can generally tell by the walls what she likes.
Tailor the present to that. If she likes a certain band try find out where they are playing next in your city and get her tickets... or a DVD of thier latest hits. Something like that.

Why?
we've already got the chronicals of narnia in our house, so there's not too much point in that. i was looking at some of his other stuff (screwtape letters etc) but they're mostly just too old...
and she's his dark materials too.
she likes dancing, if that helps?
Originally posted by geniusIf she likes dancing sign her up for some classes... unless she does that already.
