What excites you most about this movie? The 7 minute walk to the moon craft, or the 12 minute flight to gather his dead friends body?
Perhaps it was the 8 minutes of shifted colors of the Grand Canyon on his way to 'infinity'?
I know sci-fi, this was sci-fail.
Will you next tell me Blade Runner is not a 'true sci-fi' movie but rather a 'space wes ...[text shortened]... Give me a list of movies that fit the criteria of sci-fi by your definition, please.

saying someone is intelligent or unintelligent for liking/not liking a certain movie/tv genre is ridiculous.
I said "unintelligent women do not get sci-fi", not "if a woman does not get sci-fi, then she is unintelligent". I'm sure you can see the difference.
And I also said nothing about preference. I was talking about understanding. I'm sure you can see that difference too.

Serenity, the offshoot of Firefly, for one.
So was Firefly. Too bad it was only on for one short season.
I have the Firefly: The Complete Series on DVD, and pull one out once in a while. It was a great series. They are replaying them now on the SyFy channel.

Nobody who says this can be a lover of cinema. Sorry, your reviewer sucks.
Ohhh, sure... lots of people 'like' cinema... but no one appreciates it as much as YOU DO!~ So cool.

You don't think that the phrase I quoted is pretty ridiculous? How can you like cinema when you dismiss its images?
