So to summarise:
1. I told a racist joke to my sister.
2. My sister responded in a way that seemed even more racist (even though it wasn't).
3. I was shocked and lectured her for a couple of hours, listing Turkish people I think fit the stereotype but she does not.
If she'd had any sense she'd have pretended to laugh and then reported you to the police and/or social services.

so you think I didn't ask her if she thought it was being a bit more unfair toward turkish people than toward the lamb? I can never tell if you underestimate me on purpose or if you really think so low of me.
She said she doesn't like turks. I asked her why not, and she said because they are arrogant and stupid and they always brag (Sadly, I have to admit ...[text shortened]... ve of turkish people in general here.
I am definately not trying to prejudice my little sister.

Is that why the english are ar$eholes? 😉

[EDIT] Seemed an appropriate thread for the 'joke'. 😉

And I'm gone.

I'm sure that most Swedish people wouldn't mind admitting this fact- as they are a very liberal minded group of people 😏

Originally posted by sjegHmmm, I guess that would only apply to Swedish men living in one of the countries where those jokes are told (as I said, I have never heard any of them in Germany or Norway). Swedish people living in Norway would just become very stupid. And Swedish people in Sweden are not confronted enough with those expectations, I guess.

But this discussion gave me an idea - I should really start to expect my opponents to make blunders all the time. Let's see how that works.
